This week in training Wilder and knill set the tactics, heckingbottom only came in last night so wilder and knill picked the team and the formation, seeing as knill is still here, heckingbottom is going to go with what wilder and knill put in place, this is exactly the team, formation and tactics wilder would have gone with, the very important difference in the scoreline today as opposed to what has gone before is all the team have seen their leader/mentor/inspiration leave a sinking ship and think, if hes fucked off what's the fucking point
Because they get paid a shitload of money to do their jobs!!

What that has to do with the price of fish is beyond me? This has been an internal war for the best part of five years. They've gone for it now and forced him out. I hope they know what they're doing. I sincerely doubt it.
Oh. I think they know exactly what they are doing. That is part of the problem

He'd handed his resignation in during both Championship seasons due to broken promises and attempts to radically change the working environment. If I was him I'd have walked after Bristol City. Good luck to the next bloke working with these chancers. They've got no chance as they don't have the supporter behind them. Paul Daniels or Harry Potter would be a good appointment.
And nothing about CW being money orientated (nothing against that, I am from a very working class background from Sheffield myself and understand about trying to make money for you family when you can) and willing after to leave the club for more money? (all this he is blade and no bigger blade than me Seth has done my head in over the years, because many parties have used this club, and it always is left with us fans to pick up the pieces).

What assurances did wilder want to stay? More money to piss up the wall? Full control of bad dealings when clearly he wanted help scouting foreign markets but too stubborn to acknowledge this? Educate me please I'm confused

I think he wanted the infrastructure to improve off the pitch. I think the lack of movement on the new training ground was one of the reasons.

We've had a large total spend. This should have been more tapered in favour of higher wages for better players. There was enough leeway in £130m to do that. Still, it's enough to get 17th so that shows that most of this is on Wilder. Genuinely think it's simply a case of management inexperience at premier league level and inexperience handling big money transfers.

Regardless of the amount of money you make this is a sad and uneasy time for everyone connected with the club. I dont know what you do for a living but is your performance always 100% regardless of how you feel, your morale and at what point do think, I earn x£'s so i must try,

You do have a point Bobby, and no, it's not reasonable to expect 100% all the time. I have noticed, as I'm sure you have, that it's been a sad and uneasy time in the country (the world?) for 12 months now. It's not about today, it's about extremely poor performance (and from some, attitude) for a long time now.
I'm reasonably well paid (but nothing like the players get), and have a good and sympathetic employer, but if my performance and attitude over the last 6 months had matched some members of the team, a lot of questions would have been asked. As it is, like most people, I do my best in the difficult circumstances of the past year. I don't think some of the players (and possibly the manager) have.

You obviously know about the the BC game and team up north, and the massive blade ready to leave us for £ then.

Chancers is probably about right because the current owner is kidding himself about owning FC's and is building a portfolio of clubs to hopefully sell on, but until then we are stuck with this bloke.

No bigger blades than the fans that turn up every week and the people who have benefitted from that need to respect that and start being honest.

I totally agree with you, I dont wish to presume but possibly you're not under contract which means that should your performance levels drop you will go down the disciplinary route leading to dismissal, the players to a certain extent dont have that pressure because unless they're released for a serious breach of club rules their contract will be paid in full as a lump sum, look at the manager, he has left the club with a multi million pay off, if you performed admirable for 4 years but your last years performance been awful for the last year you would be out with nothing and no reference to your previous attainment

Very sad day and a very sad weekend .

If you put our "strikers" in a brothel they still would not score.:(

Culminating in a sacking.

It’s not about slagging Wilder off, it’s the sense of being a blade, that man was everything we all want to be, fan, ball boy, player, captain, manager, genuine legend. You can slag him off if that’s your want, for me it’s about how he’s given pride once more to our club, can’t now complain that he’s slagged off ownership, if they hadn’t watched his time at Northampton then that’s down to their due diligence not wilders

chris wilder will forever be a legend of the lane but no one man is bigger than the football club a bloody great football club thanks chris all the best whatever the future holds you fill up my senses utb fto

CW has never wanted out. Everyone has a breaking point, a limited to what they won't take. CW has had ample opportunities to go to greener pastures. A contract was left on the table for six months at that time, which was signed as soon as they met CW in the middle. A contract far beneath the one you referenced in terms of personal terms.

Hes gone because the board dont have the resources to match his 'ambition'.

However what is indisputable is hes spent 120m quid and the team now wouldn't beat the one that got us promotion so its.not all the boards fault is it?
Not true the fees weren’t as constantly stated and are spread out over time of contract with conditions attached. Brewster cost nowhere near 20 million neither did mcburnie or ramsdale.

We're coming back down to earth with a bang, sadly.

End of the day, we were a League One team going no where when he took over. He did something phenomenal and took us to the verge of Europe last season.

So it turned out rubbish this season. I'd have taken this season post Adkins if someone had told me we'd get the 4 years prior, who wouldn't?
I don't think what happened 4, 5, 6 years ago is relevant.
This is now

Once again by some miracle we find ourselves in the Premier League by somehow managing to cheapskate and blag our way into it

And instead of grabbing the chance with both hands we try to cheapskate and blag our way into remaining there.

Who cares who's more right than the other and who's more to blame than the other.

The truth is a very limited side got promoted to the top division 3 times since 1990 and 3 times they've remained limited and found a way to fuck it up.

This club has until Christmas this year as far as I'm concerned, for the Prince to show us the blueprint for the way he's going to do things, the way things are going to be done that upset Wilder so much.

If its the same shit I'm done, I'll go to a hypnotherapist or something to see if they can wipe Sheffield United out of my existence.

Maybe Paul McKenna can make me laugh hysterically when I hear the words Sheffield United, but without knowing why

It was.
The way forward was the Championship, and there is no better man in football to get us promoted from it than CW.
We can’t be sure that would be the case after the dross we have served up this season.
If he had stayed, not sure he would have had the fight, the enthusiasm, etc. to pick himself up after being in charge this season.
If he had stayed and we had been promoted - then what?
We are back in the Premier League.
Another season like this in the offing.
Something to look forward to.

Plus if he as Jim Phipps suggested had been offered other players that have done well in the PL, but ignored that and stuck his neck out to use the whole budget to get his own in and then finish rock bottom without a hope, he cannot have too many complaints.

“I walked in the front door and when I leave I’ll walk out the front door”

I don‘t feel CW has done that.
