I’m sick of hearing this, its boring now. I’ll put another spin on it - If someone had told you after we won at Leeds we’d be top then 8th by end of today would you be happy?? Cos I certainly am not. I’m not saying Wilder OUT at all but he has no Plan B.

He literally changed to plan B during tonight's game. Went 4-1-4-1 and we let less goals in than the first half (might have been no goals if not for a rush of blood to Moore's head).

I agree with the first part to some extent, nowt wrong with being disappointed thanks to the fantastic standard we have set.

Garbage! He went to plan B pretty quickly tonight but we were up against a team who are head and shoulders above anything in this division. Accept this, remember where we were 12 months ago and move on.

Yes. And I'd bet if you looked back through my posts I also said that people were getting a bit carried away and that we were sure to have a bad run of results at some stage this season.

Am I happy with the results in our last dozen games? No. Very happy with how far forward we've come since Wilder took over. The fact we can even imagine being disappointed by not being in a play-off spot is a fucking miracle.

Never meant to offend anyone or slag our club or manager off. I was a first time poster, long time reader. It’s only my opinion. ⚔️⚔️

Number of posts... = 2.

Nice try pal.

Completely agree with the first part. Earlier in the season we were beating very good sides, now we lose to them and throw out the excuses

To me we’ve not executed plan A very well recently, defensively we concede many long range goals, we need to cut out the shots

If you were more observant, you would have noticed we switched to plan B in the second half. Wilder shuffled it around, and we looked brighter but unfortunately it wasnt enough.

If you were asked (at any point) this season if top 8 would be a good achievement and you weren't happy; you're naive.

Should we be beating Wolves then?

I'm right behind Wilder,he's the best man for the job,BUT,he's got to go,he's got no Plan C.

Getting tired of these comments, this is typical United mentality. Feeling sorry for ourselves but take comfort by saying well, look where we were last season. Fuck last season, that’s in the past. If we continue to look back then that’s the direction we’ll end up going.

I'd rather have this mentality than expecting us to be beating the best teams in the division (whilst completely ignoring that it's not a level playing field)

A looking forward mentality does not mean we expect to beat everyone. Just bored that people continue to use last season to soften the blow after we lose. That makes it too easy imo, we keep saying that and eventually we’ll be right back where we keep talking about.

And some are getting tired of people who forget how much United have progressed and now have unrealistic expectations.
And I don’t think many are feeling sorry for ourselves.

But we did beat them, easily.

Then our form took a header off a cliff. Months ago.

What you're describing is rationalisation.

The fact that we're a newly promoted team, with a comparatively miniscule budget is a perfectly valid reason why we won't win every game.

It’s not using last season, it’s using the last six and remembering that while United were floundering in L1, football changed and the Championship became a hell of a lot stronger. So the club is playing catch up on and off the field, and a little perspective is no bad thing sometimes

Bang on

What strange logic.

Leicester won the premier league two years ago, should they be dissapointed they haven't won it since?

Oh come now, it was earlier this season, not years back. This season we could go toe to toe with the league's best. Now we look grateful to be on the same pitch. Is that not disappointing to you?

We were in the form of our lives, Clarke was having the most prolific period in his career and we were getting breaks (such as Coady's dismissal), comparatively, now we're low in confidence, enduring a tricky run of games and we're struggling.

Why would you be disappointed? Surely any rational football fan knows his team will go through peaks and troughs. The fact that we're 8th, with our resources and we've had another positive transfer window should make you positive, despite a poor run.

I remember plenty of fans were saying, at the time, that they would be disappointed if we weren't in the top two at come the end of the season. Those people will, of course, be very disappointed now.

I wasn't one of them but it of course *is* disappointing that with the loss of one player our season has collapsed like a cake in a bath. Yes there's an argument that we'd have taken mid table (which is where we are heading) at the beginning of the season but can you not see that, as a rational football fan, our expectations were altered by the fact that we went top of the league, outplaying Wolves, Leeds and Wednesday along the way?

The peaks were very high, which is what's making this very deep trough so frustrating.

I think you are thinking a lot like Wilder. While we have done ever so well this season, we could have done so much better given the position we were in coming into the winter.

I think that's where the frustration comes from- we know (and he knows) our best 11 can go toe-to-toe with any side in this league. But we couldnt maintain our great positiion - because our wider squad lacks quality at this level. If we'd have recruited better in each window then maybe we would have maintained our great start... Hence the frustration...

of course everyone is disappointed but you're overreacting.. we've been toe to toe in every game bar this one. this is the first time it has happened..
i've read some total shit on here recently.. billy is crap.. leon is crap.. even wilder is crap ffs.. get a grip.

I've not called anyone crap myself!

It's the first time we've been outclassed by a much better side but it's not the first time we've been second best is it? No-one thought we were better than Bolton at the Lane for instance, or that we should have got anything at Millwall or Preston.

Our form has been wretched for more than two months now. It's disappointing given where we were. That's all I'm trying to say. That and, given our form, it's unreasonable to suggest we're going to win eight more games 'with ease'.

We've one one game with ease post Coutts and that was against Sunderland.

I remember us all being devastated after we beat Burton three one away on a Friday night

There was a reason for that

i wasn't talking about you.. sometimes i read this stuff and think 'must be a pig on the wind up' and then realise these people have been on here for years! go figure.. we've been second best a few times .. cardiff.. qpr.. bolton.. but never been outplayed like that. i'm putting it down as a one off at an unfortunate point in the season.. ymmv.. we won't win any games 'with ease' in this division as i have said many times. it is too tight.. but then neither will anyone else.. everybody seems to think that the likes of Cardiff and Derby will now win every game. they won't.
