That would require at least an Amber Met Office weather warning and right now, we're right on the edge of a Yellow one

It doesn't look like being anywhere near as serious as the one that cancelled the Merseyside Derby a month ago

Just gone to Amber now for Pennine regions

I trust Wilder to stitch something together that'll give United a chance to win the game.

I'll have my questions and concerns about it, I always do. Part of being a fan. But it seems silly not to trust him at this point

I’d play this:

Cooper

Seriki Ahmedhodzic Robinson Burrows

Peck Brooks

O’Hare Brewster Brereton-Diaz

Campbell

I can’t imagine he’d be looking to play young Blacker as a starter.

It’s absolutely wild that we have just one fit / available central midfielder.

And that one midfielder might have been out on loan in league one at the start of the year as a 19/20 year old making his way in the game.

This squad is being held together with sticking tape atm. And there arnt many options to change it up atm until we are healthier.

I’d have been pushing hard to complete Doyle / Hamza / Charles over the last few days if I was wilder.

Wrong priorities so far in the transfer window.

Because two strikers are in first doesn't mean we were neglecting other positions.

I would have said that a Soutter replacement was key before.

Though now a CM is desperately needed.

Decisions have to be made by other clubs first before transfers can occcur, see the situation with Shea Charles for example.

We didn’t really have a choice and it came a little out of the blue that he wanted a new contract from what I heard
Not entirely sure that's correct Swizzler. Norrington-Davies' last contract ran from December 2020 to last summer, at which point we offered an "improved" 3 year deal. I have a feeling that he was on a pittance on the last contract so maybe that played a part but the bit I find hard to understand is the length of this new deal. Given the injuries you'd have expected a 1+1 deal but instead he's now with us, contractually at least, until the summer of 2027.

Nah, spending silly money on Cannon when we could have used a chunk of that on a midfielder isn't a good use of time or money.
Agree that centre half is another priority.
We do need reinforcements up front but with Campbell returning and BBD already acquired the focus on Cannon is odd.

Not saying it would work but given Burrows in there definitely doesn’t work I’d try Gilchrist he’s mates with Peck anyway so there’s a chance they’d have more of a natural understanding and coming from Chelsea he’ll have had a decent grounding from a technical point of view. On top of that when he plays right back he seems to want to pass inside most of the time rather than go outside and given he’s on the short side for a CB and looks not entirely comfortable at right back his future might be at CDM anyway if he wants a career at a high level in the game a bit like Ampadu.

That’s my reasoning anyway and I’d give it a shot.
Not for me mate, in fact he'd literally be my last shout, he's shite on the ball bless him. We're not thick, I'm sure we'll get someone (maybe 2) in.

I’d go for 2 CM’s in now personally bit worried about Davies going for a scan we’re really short on options in the middle. I know Blacker played there in the cup and came on in that spot against Swansea but he’s a converted forward and whilst he’s a talented lad and plays in midfield now I still think he’s much more comfortable when asked to be an attacking presence in midfield rather than being asked to be a sitter.

My sources source is very high up in the club to be fair so no reason to not believe him

Cooper

Seriki Anel JLT Burrows

------Peck -- McCallum ------

Brewster -- O'Hare-- BBD

--------Campbell-------

Go long . Don’t be clever . We are blessed with plenty of attacking options. Think Dull will low block so I do t see the struggle we had in sheep shagville

You might be onto something there. In fairness the Bassett days were amongst many of our best memories as Blades and we never worried about centre mids then winky face

I'm not doubting you. I suspect there's an element of us accepting some of the blame for his last, most serious injury built into this contract.
Not really, we basically didn’t have another option as it was close to the start of the season when RND raised it and pushed for a better deal. I think it was more to do with the fact that we didn’t have the resources to go get someone else, give the deal and worry about it later.

.....................Cooper
.....Gilchrist....Anel.....Robinson
..Seriki....Peck....Brooks...Burrows
....................O'Hare
.........Brewster.....Campbell

Brooks did pretty well for us in that role in the PL. I'd like to see what he could do there.

Also, I'd quite like to see Brewster and Campbell as a pairing for a little longer. I thought they looked great together for a brief period.

Plenty of attacking output from the wing backs and a chance to see Gilchrist in what we all assume is his best position.
I also think Anel thrives in the middle of a 3.

Wilder said after last nights game that Vinnie and JRS were back.
They are, but they won't start. They'll be on the bench and be given minutes in the second half. Wilder won't rush them back from injury.

Wish Hamer would stop getting these stupid bookings
