They better not mess this up now its confirmed in most sources including Rangers OS.

Fallen through

From STV

Kyle Hutton and John Fleck’s proposed loan move to Sheffield United appears to have fallen through.

The Rangers duo were due to head for League One until the end of the season, but the Blades failed to process the necessary paperwork in time.

Sheffield United remained hopeful on Thursday that a deal could yet be pushed through, with the Scottish FA having done everything necessary at their end.

But the English Football League have told STV that the deal is now off. "The relevant paperwork was not submitted in time," a spokesperson for the Football League confirmed.

There are no provisions for the players to move to England on an emergency loan basis, with clubs down south only able to make such deals with other English sides.

The possibility though remains for either Hutton or Fleck to go on loan to a Scottish Football League club on a 93-day emergency loan basis.

Rangers had announced on Wednesday night that the pair had made the deadline day move, subject to paperwork, but both will now have to remain in Scotland until at least January.

Twenty-year-old attacker Fleck’s only appearance this season has been a 15 minute substitute appearance against Motherwell on August 21. He made his competitive debut on January 23, 2008 in a Scottish Cup match against East Stirlingshire.

Midfielder Hutton, 20, made his debut against Kilmarnock on the opening day of last season. He has made 13 appearances for the Ibrox club, and has one Scotland Under-21 cap.

Not sure how reputable Scottish TV is as a HP though.

Why do I always get so excited? I know that ultimately I'll be disappointed. The highs and lows of being a football fan.

Rangers pair move now OFF

It appears that SUFC have managed to cock it up yet again - the move for the Rangers pair has now been cancelled because the paperwork wasn't processed correctly on time !!!!
They cannot be loaned next week because the FA and SFA do not have that arrangement
How is it nothing changes at BDTBL - what a bunch of Amateurs!!!!

Then again, look on the brightside, two players who we hadn't heard of this time yesterday haven't signed :)

Threads merged

Loans, fallen through or otherwise, haven't been confirmed on the OS so please keep all discussion in this thread until we get anything official.

If their moves have fallen through it doesnt change my opinion.

Selling Boggy and Slew were both good deals.

My reservation however, is that we dont seem to have brought in a forward to replace them.

Knowing next to nothing about Hutton and Fleck, I dont see the point in being upset about their moves falling through.

If we can get a decent forward on loan then that would be better anyway.

Maybe? We're now short of cover upfront. Maybe Ched isn't guilty and will start playing again once proved?

In cyber world ...

On football manager you can't sign Scottish players on loan in September once the window closes so if we've missed the deadline, we've missed the players

I was led to believe that if the deals were already "going through" by the 11pm deadline then the rest of the paperwork could be completed afterwards.

sorry double post, damn computer

You can't be sure it's our fault. Maybe it was the FA's, or maybe Rangers didn't fax the paperwork in time.

I agree, it was mentioned on Sky last night that as long as 'the intention to sign' is received it was OK. Remember Arshavin last season ?

Official line is 'paperwork completed by'.

Didn't Van Der Vaart sign on like Sept 2nd or something?

Youre missing the big point there Matt. He signed for a London club they are under a different set of rules to the rest

Seth Bennet on Twitter claiming 'None of the deals confirmed yet. DW not happy about that. Hutton and Fleck could both become Permanent Deals if FL accept blades case.' and most recently 'To clarify FL say they didn't get paper work til 2308 but blades has proof it was sent before 2300. However they got an error report!'

More shambolic ineptitude from those running our club

For Fax Sake
Last time I used a fax was when Neil Warnock was still manager at BDTBL. (although not to NW - in case you wee wondering)
The process of scanning and emailing doesn't suffer from a busy phone line and you can still see when it was sent and received.
Fax eh? Welcome to the stone age Football League.

By all accounts, both these guys are very good players and would be excellent at our level and niether is on big money. If so then surely we shoudn't have to wait for Slew or anyone else to go before snapping them up. Boggy had already gone so his wage ( or part of it ) would have covered both of them. Slew going, in financial terms at least, was just a bonus.

Fax simile

"This fax situation is as incompetent as the average Sheffield United transfer."

You lot are a complete shambles and a joke. Love from Tricky Trevor.

What a disgrace - as someone said, why not scan and e-mail? Do FL insist on faxes?

Sheffield United have boosted their squad by signing Rangers duo John Fleck and Kyle Hutton on season-long loans.

The midfield pair are highly rated with Fleck, in particular, tipped for a bright future at Ibrox.

The duo represent a considerable coup for Blades boss Danny Wilson, who has already guided his new side to 13 points from their opening five npower League One games.

Was posted at 1.55pm this afternoon. So has it gone through or not?

This is getting Ridicolous.

Come on SUFC. What the hells going on!!

Club still in discussions with Football League due to late receipt of fax, even though we have proof we sent it on time.

It is shocking that in 2011 they still have to use such outdated technology as a fax, but saying that everyone knew the deadline so why leave it so late?

Just bring them down, call them C Arlos and T Evez and play them. We can sort out the paperwork later if anyone notices.

They're both listed in the player profiles on the O/S. No squad numbers though. I have no idea if that's significant or not.

Both are listed as strikers too, even though every report I've read says that Hutton is a midfielder.
Slew is still listed in the squad alongside them so I wouldn't read too much into it.
