Kyle Hutton and John Fleck’s proposed loan move to Sheffield United appears to have fallen through.
The Rangers duo were due to head for League One until the end of the season, but the Blades failed to process the necessary paperwork in time.
Sheffield United remained hopeful on Thursday that a deal could yet be pushed through, with the Scottish FA having done everything necessary at their end.
But the English Football League have told STV that the deal is now off. "The relevant paperwork was not submitted in time," a spokesperson for the Football League confirmed.
There are no provisions for the players to move to England on an emergency loan basis, with clubs down south only able to make such deals with other English sides....
If their moves have fallen through it doesnt change my opinion.
Selling Boggy and Slew were both good deals.
It appears that SUFC have managed to cock it up yet again - the move for the Rangers pair has now been cancelled because the paperwork wasn't processed correctly on time !!!!
They cannot be loaned next week because the FA and SFA do not have that arrangement
How is it nothing changes at BDTBL - what a bunch of Amateurs!!!!![]()
I was led to believe that if the deals were already "going through" by the 11pm deadline then the rest of the paperwork could be completed afterwards.
Didn't Van Der Vaart sign on like Sept 2nd or something?
Seth Bennet on Twitter claiming 'None of the deals confirmed yet. DW not happy about that. Hutton and Fleck could both become Permanent Deals if FL accept blades case.' and most recently 'To clarify FL say they didn't get paper work til 2308 but blades has proof it was sent before 2300. However they got an error report!'
Sheffield United have boosted their squad by signing Rangers duo John Fleck and Kyle Hutton on season-long loans.
The midfield pair are highly rated with Fleck, in particular, tipped for a bright future at Ibrox.
The duo represent a considerable coup for Blades boss Danny Wilson, who has already guided his new side to 13 points from their opening five npower League One games.
Do FL insist on faxes?
They're both listed in the player profiles on the O/S. No squad numbers though. I have no idea if that's significant or not.
