John Hope and Eddie Colquhoun vs Stoke, 1971
Stoke's striker is the late John Ritchie who played for Wendy. He scored Stoke's first in their 3-2 win. He scored the only goal in the Sheffield derby at the Lane in Sept 1967 (a lot of fighting before the match)

League Cup 3rd round at White Hart Lane, October 1970
Highlights of the match was shown on Sportsnight that night. My mum would let me watch the programme and I have never got to see the goals in that match. We lost 2-1. Martin Chivers and Jimmy Pearce scored for Spurs. Ted Hemsley got our equaliser

the owd pavilion is still there behind the stand?? is it a listed building?

It got bulldozed a little after those photos were taken. My dad used to hate going on the South Stand with me, he loathed it. To him it represented tradition trampled in the pursuit of a phantom future. My mum made him to start with, but he started taking me on the Kop as soon as he could.

Who designed it? Looked a monstrosity even back then. Why wasn't it built further back to allow more room behind john street?

So we could move the John Street stand further forward?
Then rebuild the Kop and BL stand so it all fits together?

Either snort less or cut it a bit more.

the john street and kop were nothing more than sheds then, some would argue to kop still is.

Won 2-1. Keith Solomon was our sub keeper. He died at training a few weeks later

"In a programme I have dated Sat 28 Feb 1981 (vs. Huddersfield) a small piece in the programme says that his funeral took place Thursday last, though never said where.

The piece said; 'All at Bramall Lane were shocked and saddened by the sudden and tragic death of Keith Solomon our young reserve goalkeeper last week.
There is very little that words can say but I am sure that all our supporters will join the club in offering our condolences and sincerest sympathies to his family.
The funeral took place on Thursday last and officials and players were in attendance.
