An ex-neighbour of mine is a Leicester fan and when we lived next door we used to chat football a fair bit but we were both busy with our careers, families etc.

Since we moved away we have kept in touch by Xmas Cards as per usual, but we bumped into each other a few years ago and revived our football chat in retirement ( well he's semi-retired but he loves to talk about Leicester since they were taken over - smiley for fingers in the throat puke not offered!!!).

Point of this O.P. is to point out how much things can change overnight.

Middle of last season Pearson was anathema, didn't have a clue, naive, thick, slow witted. By the end of last season he was the Messiah, never mind his journalist abuse, opposition player assault etc.etc.etc.,couldn't put a foot wrong. I said he wouldn't last the summer but was poo-pooed out of court.

In the summer my pal was disconsolate over the appointment of Ranieri - end of the world. The Thais hadn't a clue, who was advising them?

These days my pal is almost unbearable. He sends me long copy articles from here there and everywhere about Vardy ( great story to read about), the Foxes, this , that and absolutely everything about them being top of the Prem. After all that he always finds a few lines to say " shame about the United result, thought Adkins was the man, it's a long way to go" and all that sort of stuff.

Simple lesson: Things can change in football overnight.

You should have a chat with him about black players and your associated thoughts. Bet that would make him go quiet.

B'Way. you must totally misunderstand the point I have been making about black players ---and Leicester have a good number of course.

Anyway, that's not the point of this thread.

I remember beattie scoring a perfect hatrick against them at the lane the season they went down in a 3-0 win. Their fans started singing cheerio as blades left the ground early and were immense throughout.

things change
10 years from now there will have been over the leagues 10 x 19 changes in position
190 displacements 95 promotions and 95 relegations , 20 out of the league altogether and 20 new or retyurning clubs

some will yo yo
some will fall drastically
some will rise dramatically

10 years ago the prem had
Blackburn
bolton
wigan
fulham
charlton
middlesborough
portsmouth
birmingham

west nrom and sunderland were just being relegated
man city finished 15th

10 years from now look as different again

Woody , things can change in life overnight . Football just follows the same pattern . As always with being positive we will get out of this shit and marass . In life we learn , BDTBL we never do , but we have to stick with Adkins .

Palace , Leicester do set the bemchmark , not in administration , but with a complete change of ownership , which is becoming more and more evidant , as a requirement at the lane . Mr Mcabe has tried is best but is best is not good enough . Further investment is required , but finding someone is as scarce as rocking horse shit.

Lets hope Adkins has the backing and balls to turn us around .

Not for us I'm afraid unless overnight equates to the last fucking ice age!

Haven't we got a new owner? Isn't he taking over the club gradually, tranche by tranche? Unless our vocal fans drive him away?

Not for us they fucking don't.

One day..... one day.......in fact as sure as night follows day in fact. then it will go away almost as quick as it came, unless something goes differently, but why should it? Because we have the Prince now!!!! Saudis are blessed with oil and all lucky things like that, toilet paper is it, something like that:cool:

I remember losing against wigan and being relegated from the prem
Walked home and went straight to bed

But woke up this morning and everythings hunky fucking dory
Mid table in the worst league one ever
And only been here 5 years

I would need paying to go I'll tell you straight. Watching a pathetic team murdered by a cunt like Rooney, pay a mortgage instalment to attend..fuck off.
Where's your passion pal ,every blade should fancy a crack at them they are not Fergus ons team they are beatable BY US, can't wait

Honestly that's so ridiculous it is actually quite funny, well it made me laugh anyway. Have a like yer miserable bleeder! ;)

It's same as Swansea. Garry Monk was last years hero, now he's on the verge of the sack. Same with Tim Sherwood. It's so stupid. Nobody is infallible, every team has bad runs.

If you really want to identify a rapid turnaround in fortunes, Leicester in the mid 90's is a good example.

I remember us playing away at Leicester in march 1995 and we won 2-0. They had just taken 13 points from 15 games. I'd listened on radio Sheffield and when Kendall (I think ) was being interviewed after the game you could hear Leicester fans chanting for O'Neill to be sacked.

19 points from the next 8 games, promotion via the play offs, onwards to cup wins, playing in europe etc and he's a Leicester legend.

Oh, if only

Judge,

If I remember right

Every year it's always been said "this is the worse league 1 ever".
Surely Englsih football can't be on such a continuous decline.

Another simple lesson : just shows that the average football fan knows fuck all about football.

With Bolton now teetering on the brink due to finances, I fully expect them to be in the top four of the premier league within the next five years. Worked for other debt avoiding teams in the past, so yes things can rapidly change in football. Rambling now, so I'm going to shut up.

He's been critical of Ranieri's team selection a few times this season too!!!

That speaks volumes.

If there is such a thing as a teams fans who have no reason to complain at the moment, then surely it's Leicester. Until recently I'd say Burton would have also been in that category - perhaps not now!
