How do you stop Growing Crowd Disorder

Frank Lampard saying that it should be allowed if fans are able to behave themselves. This week has shown that they can’t so just put fences up. Stupid bastards won’t be able to get on then.

Surely it's easy enough to have sniffer dogs at games if the police wanted? If caught with a ticket and drugs you're banned from the ground for the season. I suspect that would make a few think twice about it.

as the title said How do you stop Crowd Disorder, because everyone who been to an away game this season or watched football in the last 2 weeks could see this billy sharp incident coming a mile off. we already had a Leicester fan arrested & jailed for 4 months at city ground in march. we arent going towards the bad old days we are in the bad old days right now

for me the stewarding & policing at some grounds that ive seen in person & on social media has left a lot to be desired, which hasn't helped, it ended up completely lawless. you only have to look at Huddersfield who were just as bad as forest, they were all just watching it happening but doing absolutely nothing while a luton player was getting slapped & abused while trying to applaud the away end beside the goal.

what can be done or what will be done, because of course metal barriers are a no go for obvious reasons. as i can only think of putting netting around the stadiums or the wembley style barriers. because something needs to be done, before things are too late & we are talking about a monica seles style attack at the french open

Don't vote Tory !

Commenting on the measures, Boris Johnson said: “Middle-class cokeheads should stop kidding themselves, their habit is feeding a war on our streets, driving misery and crime across our country and beyond."

🙄

I've said a few times that sniffer dogs ought to be deployed just inside the turnstiles. Must be incredibly easy pickings.

Agree with most of the sentiments on posted already.

Points deductions for mass pitch invasions. Behind closed doors isn't much of a deterrent, we've had plenty of that already and is something we might be a bit more desensitised towards now. If either Forest or Huddersfield went up starting on -6, they might as well not bother.
Net off the bottom few rows.
Better security. Stewards aren't security guards or the sort of people you'd be a bit fearful of.
Anyone going on the pitch is fair game for a kicking without consequence.

We don't want fences back but they might have to be if this carries on.

The authorities have to publish a scale of punishments before the start of next season.
all 92 league clubs meet, discuss and vote on the scale of punishments and everyone then knows where they stand.

”Proper“ fans would also help in self policing.

Another one with Port Vale fans fighting with Swindon players last night. It's happening far too much and the FA need to take a stance on this to stamp it out. The only way is for action to be taken against the clubs rather than the individuals
I like SouthStandGBlock idea to turn the sprinklers on. When I worked in Ireland during the troubles the riot police added blue dye to the water canons and sprayed the crowd so they could be identified

Crocodiles are never the answer. We need bears, big fuck off bears!

No! We need sharks with freaking laser beams attached to their heads!!

Has to be proper consequences for the fans. They don’t care if clubs get fined for pyrotechnic usage. But they’ll care if there’s capacity reduction or closures meaning they’re unable to see their team.

Once the law-abiding fans get pissed off the fanbases will police themselves.

I think that it needs a higher profile Police & club response for all these recent incidents. Arrests/bans

Club are missing a trick as always. We already have stadium tours so how about organised pitch invasions at half time? Players leave the field of battle first of course. 10 quid a pop. Away fans have their own segregated invasion but get charged £20 of course.

I have more ideas of the same quality if anyone's interested.

Close grounds to fans. I know it punishes those law abiding fans who follow their team, but its getting silly now.
Billy attacked. Bree of Luton attacked. Swindon players attacked. Viera verbally abused.
Make Notts For, Udders, Port Vale, and Everton play in front of an empty stadium for first 5 home games in 2022/23. If that doesn't end it, fences will be back.

Agree. Hit the fans where it hurts and you'll be surprised how quickly they start policing themselves.

I thought all fans can only get a ticket if they are the club's database. of the club they support. if they do anything wrong. should be escorted to the clubs offices. they have to give their name and address details. then you have yourself a life ban. make sure the photo is taken. and given to the press and tv. to publicly shame them.

Ban smart phones from grounds ,sorted in one
Harassing people by sticking a mobile phone in their face strikes me as being the major part of the problem. If you add verbal abuse to provoke a response, this could surely be regarded as a form of assault?

After Hillsborough, and the removal of fences, there was a widespread acceptance that despite the lack of a fence, you had to respect the virtual fence.
The fences and all the other shit hat had built up in terms of Police seeing crowds as a mob, had ended up in disaster.
The whole lot had to change and crowds by and large respected it.
That isn't even in the memory of many people now. Coupled with an age of instant gratification and new-age twatishness, here we are.

It has to be a life ban for me.

Though you get your mates (assuming such people have them) to buy you a ticket.

How do you police a life ban ?

Biometric assessment is the only way, but the civil rights police would ban that.

Fences - no thanks. We’ve seen where that ends up.
Sanctions - yes please.

Ban anyone who goes on the pitch (inc. shirt beggars) for a year & ask them to report to somewhere else on match day. If they don’t, £5000 fine & 5 year ban.

Pitch invasion of 10+ people - next home game behind closed doors.
Pitch invasion of 500+ people - 3 point deduction & 3 games behind closed doors.

Stewarding & Security - clubs must provide both to deal with order & disorder. Get some proper bouncers in.

Policing - sniffer dogs outside & inside. Coppers that stop bother & provide a visible pitch-side presence.

Clearer messaging/reminders from the club including the players/staff.
The Forest chairman - a QC - did issue one but it was that long & wordy, most people won’t have read it.
Imagine instead a short clip of Chris Morgan with his game-face on looking down the barrel of the camera saying…
“Ey up.
If tha’s even thinkin’ abaht comin’ ont pitch toneet, think ageeyan.
Tha’ll fuck it for thisen, t’club an’t rest on us - and I mean PROPER fuck it up.
Plus…. tha’ll have me to answer to.
Stop in thi seat mukker. Tha’s been teld.”

Think a lot of grounds now have facial recognition.

How do you police a life ban ?
The same way you police anything else.

We don't expect the police to stop people who are banned from driving, from driving.

Ban them - and if they are found in a ground on match day - custodial sentence.

It's about sending a message, act up and you will be punished. Behave and you'll be none the wiser that the punishments are harsh.

But don't treat everyone like a hooligan.
