Well, he'd been in the job a couple of hours and already the strategy was in place.

"We want to get the ball in the box as soon as we can without taking that extra touch."

Oh well, at least he's being honest. Back to the future it is then.

Henderson might have some use yet....
Muhahahaha

Good stuff Rusty ta. Steel - you reading this quote?

Hoof it into Evans - brilliant, just the job.

If hoofball keeps us up then who really gives a shit at the moment?

Who's to say he's not commenting on us always trying to take the full back on again before getting the ball into the box?

Manchester United 'get the ball in the box early' - are they a hoof ball team?

Maybe, but no point crossing it when you have a Welsh statue in the box - if indeed he has bothered to enter the box (Hull excepted!!)

I take it you normally miss the 3 or 4 runs he's attempted to make before Yeatesy decides to blast the ball at the defender he's beaten twice already? :)

And Arsenal would be so much better off if they were to do so. I'm amazed at the simplistic reasoning of some of our fans, he makes a very valid point as to how he wants us to succeed and we are already in the world of hoof apparently. You can play football while being direct, it's not all cut and dried.

I would say that if the expectation is for perfect carpet football from the off then it won't happen. As Adams also said, job one is keeping us up.

A light hearted remark to give muppets something to bicker about.

Get a fucking grip ,man up and support your football team. Or have a wank over O'Driscoll and support Doncaster mega exciting 5 points above us fucking rovers while their back four bore everyone else to death. Hence massive crowds of 8k.

spot on, well said. Can't think of much worse than watching a team that knock it back and forth across the back 4 going bloody nowhere. People can crap on all they like about playing style etc but you get absolutely nowhere without hard graft, and being 5th from bottom is not a time to start pissing about playing sideways like crabs until the end of May and end up in league 1.

Totally agree. Spot on.

I'm all up for the excitment of attacking the kop end and causing chaos!!

I now think that Micky used the word carnage not chaos. I'm up for that.

Is it playing good passing football that has got us in this deep trouble? If so can someone tell me when it happened. Some of your 'simplistic reasoning' i.e. Hoof = Success; Football = Failure is risible.

Oh, and can we have less of the 'Go and support someone else' crap, Sitwell [and others]. Perhaps you should go and watch Port Vale? It's our club as well, mate.

No it was having a guy who was never up to the job both as coach and as manager.

The buck has however to rest with the people who chose him. Speed was only trying to make use of opportunities offered after all.
