We will NOT be relying on loan players again. I'm still speechless that we are 100% reliant on Forte - quite an incredible situation.

Cresswell, Ironside, Porter. Wow - frightening stuff, amazing pace and truly prolific and all great partners for Kitson. Throw in a pair of Scottish U14 players and we have a real threat.

Joke club, short termism, laughing stock.

And still we go and watch.

Not sure what you point is,Mic

1. Where has this 100% reliant on Forte come from ? We have certainly not relied on loan players this season.Just one in the squad I think at the moment and just Cofe and Gallagher before Xmas. However it surely doesn't mean that if the 'right' loan player comes along we should ignore him (the pigs have just got Lita and Wickham...aren't they an example of good loan signings ?)

2. Murphy can play in the middle.

3. Who is laughing at us ? (apart from the pigs but they don't matter)

4. of course we are looking at the short term.It is vital we get promoted this season

Have you seen Forte play this time around or are you comparing him to the one we had 5 years ago?

Despite Mics slightly 'Over the Top' assessment if we do have to rely of Cresswell, Porter and the relatively untried Ironside as back up we are in deep poo!
Murphy is a long way from the finished article, Kitson injury prone and slowing down and Miller crocked for the rest of the season.
There must be some concern - we are not exactly prolific as we are - lose one of them and we will definitely struggle!

Perfectly valid point put in such a way that a lot of people will dismiss it.

At the moment we are reliant on Forte. Yes, we can push Murphy up front, but that will probably mean we'll use Flynn and Robson on the wings, which means we will have the slowest midfield/pair of wingers in the division and concequently a complete change of attacking options.

We have a great chance now with the midfield/attack that started vs Shrewsbury, but make no mistake, we are very vulnerable. Like last season.

Agree Bergs.

However, our vulnerablily last season came about by Hoskins getting injured after the loan window closed as this took our replacement for Ched away with no chance to replace him. This season we should be looking to have the back-up in place before the loan window closes (unless Ironside is earmarked for the job).

Well, you would assume the lad from Leeds is earmarked as such.

Nevertheless, what happens when the back-up of the back-up gets injured?!?!?!?!

Actually, what happens if the back-up of the back-up of the back-up decides to go live in a caravan in Eastbourne?!?!?!

WHAT THEN PATSIES?!?!

My bottom hole is twitching in terror.

Same as 2009 and 2012. Lose the playoff final without scoring.

Why do you have a photo of your mate as your Avatar?

What difference does it make? Forte is useless isn't he?

Or has everybody changed their tune now?

well he's the only striker with any pace - albeit strikers are meant to score goals and judging by his record and his effort at Shrewsbury I don't hold much hope there. Even so, I say we are very reliant on him. Re Murphy, me or you could play up front but that doesn't mean we will win games. Re laughing I think you'll find those who can be bothered to look as low as the Pub League find it quite amusing. Re short term there is no point going up with McCabe in charge - imagine the vast majority of this lot in 2nd tier and where is wege coming from to sign anyone half decent?

I thought patsies were things women used to make their boobs look bigger. I'm confused.

Yes Ive seen him and he looks lively compared with the other donkeys - hence my comment about us relying on him - or was that too difficult for you to grasp whislt you were trolling about knockers etc?

Forte - or a similar style of player - should have come in anyway and Blackman should have stayed put if we were serious about promotion. Know Blackman has gone I think we need 2 more quick players in addition to Forte.

Love United Hate McCabe.

So basically you are whinging that we have signed a player that fits the bill of what type of player is required?

Instead of playing Devils Advocate constantly saying "what if this" and "what about this" etc. Why don't you just comment on actual events.

Also, we're not 100% reliant on Forte otherwise he would've scored both goals on Saturday and the one against Coventry.

I hope he does bang shit loads of goals in. That way it will be good that Wilson has gone out and brought in a player to do so. Your response to that will be" WHAT IF he gets injured."

Other ways to answer the question would be.

  1. Move Murphy forward and put Robson on the right.
  2. Cross the bridge when we come to it
  3. Let Danny Wilson worry about that
  4. Give Ironside a start
  5. Give De Girolamo a try

When does this loan window close 22 March ? There's 8 games or so after the window closes, so we have to pray we don't get injuries in the wrong places before that date (or after as there's nothing we can do about it then).

I suspect that is why we are looking at Poleon.

If we do suffer the luck we had with Hoskins being injured last year, personally I'd discount Porter and Cresswell, play Murphy there or ask Joey and Diego to step up.

You never know we might have some luck this year

and Diego to step up.

There was a 'Diego' song started on Saturday. My 21 year old daughter (who is a bit like Metal,Mic,P.A.G etc...i/e very forthright )who was stood with me,the wife and a few friends piped up(quite loudly).....
'How many of you have seen him play',
of which only two out of about 20 said they had.
'How do you know he is good then?'
'I've heard he is good from a mate and he's better than Flynn.'
'Flynn's playing well. If he was called fred would you be bothered about him ?'
' what the fuck do you know about football, you are only a fucking girl. You shouldn't be stood with us men. Shut the fuck up and go home and do some knitting'

Maybe just highlights the ignorance of some fans.

I will not go into the details of my daughter's reply as it wasn't the most pleasant (she get's it off her mother)but suffice to say,she made her point ,proved that she knew quite a bit about football and pointed out his inadequacies as a man.

Problem is bartman a lot of Uniteds support is from uneducated half wits. Everything that's wrong with our society. Not all obviously, I wouldn't want to tar everybody with the same brush but a big proportion.

Obviously we will get people like that and that's because of us living in the working class city we do. Can you imagine plonking a Fulham fan in the middle of our kop.

Chap sat behind me on Saturday couldn't make his mind up, praising him before the game, slagging him off during, then praising, then slagging, and summing up after the full time whistle by saying 'he's alright but he's not very good'.

Thought he did alright, perhaps lacking some fitness but that will come,

I wouldn't say you were uneducated just misguided.

I'd say misguided snob but of course there are no uneducated half wits from Fulwood, Dore etc

What is your problem? Whatever I post. Whoever I reply too. You're there, getting involved. The post wasnt directed at you, wasnt meant for you but yet you have to have your fucking say. Have you got a personal vendetta against me or something. Because somebody has stood up to the negativity on here you feel it's necessary to have a dig at every post I put.

Half of what you post isn't even constructive. It's not about the thread it's just blatant arguing trying to get rises out of people.
