Says a lot really. If you have no news then just do some blade, bladey bladeness and you have a 5 page thread in the making.

Not averse to taking him on trial tbh. No worse than higdon has been for us and could be an option from the bench.

His goal record over the last few years isn't actually that bad once you take a step back.

If it is true about Henderson being given a trial , then Higdon cannot have impressed Adkins .

I don't know if it is just me , but being interested in players from relegated clubs , doesn't fill me with confidence for assembling a promotion winning team . Adkins is the manager and has the knowledge / expertise ( with his back room staff ) , so whoever finishes up wearing the shirt , we have to back his judgement .

Personally, if the rumours are true re DH, then it sends out a message to the fans that perhaps NA's statement that there are 6 or 7 clubs with a bigger budget than us might actually be true

Signing a player of his age and being as injury prone as he is, coupled with his disciplinary record is a no no from me. May as well just stick with Higdon imo

Why do you say that? NA could be very impressed with the rotund one and thinking of complementing him with Darius for his special fighting skills.Mobility can be much overrated you know.

Hendo' and Higdo';- "the two aitches". A strike partnership to strike fear in the hearts of all Blades fans everywhere.

Who would you not like to meet down a dark alley. Krays , Richardsons or Hendo and Higgy .

Opposition CB players would be shit scared , until we were playing every game with 9 men.

Henderson on paper, when he was with us had a decent record. The problem was that he was a liability - injury and discipline wise.

He's probably a better option than Higdon, very similar players and unless he's changed his ways, then steer clear.

Something which may come out of a possible trial is that he might be given the role in training of battering our feeble centre halves, forcing Adkins into the market for new centre halves...

In friendly games he could fill a role. Perhaps Higdon is Adkins first choice but doesn't want to risk him for full games, Henderson would give us the same option if Higgo wants a rest...

How's that for a positive spin on this rumour? ;)

I thought Higdon ALWAYS wanted a rest?

The fact we are all discussing the merits of playing either/both Higdon and Henderson is quite concerning

For the life of me, I don't see either player being good enough to play in a promotion winning side

To be fair, we aren't exactly discussing it in all seriousness.

I think there might be a bit of 'humour' here but then again WTFDIK..

As an earlier poster said, Mick Henderson would be more preferable and would probably stay on the pitch longer and spend less time in the bath.

Of course if we wanted the proper Bladey Blades strikeforce, it would the "The 3 aitches".

Higdo', Hendo' and Geoff Horso'

99% of SUFC fans clamour for Adkins to be appointed, mainly due to his skill at getting teams out of League 1.

Said fans hail the appointment, mainly due to his skill at getting teams out of League 1.

Some fans then moan about his first signings.

Its not moaning . Its black humour.

I aint moaned about Woolford. I wouldn't moan about Sharp. Henderson however is pushing it a bit

If anything represented a backward move it would be the signing of Henderson. I think most supporters realise we need a central player, but this lummox would only signify the lack of ambition that I thought we'd consigned to the past. It may be that this remains a rumour, if so, good. Much is being made pre-season of Adams to start more games for the Blades, and if we do sign a center forward, or someone who knows how to make that position work efficiently, I'd hate it to be to the detriment of the younger squad players, and I include Diego in that group.

I appreciate that Adkins has to find a way of integrating the players he has with new recruits. In Done and Murphy we already have two excellent attacking players, now it's down to the performances of the existing squad players to answer questions about who can play alongside these two. My expectation (maybe that should be hope) is that whoever we sign will be of an age and quality that suggests they'll be here for several years to come, and that we'll be able to build around them as we progress.

Not the way forward, you know he'll miss lots of games through suspension and injury.

Also his private life has been troubled hasn't it, iirc there was an assault/abh/gbh charge coming his way, or was it sorted? Either way we don't need any more shit throwing at us

OK, I won't believe it then unless http://www.s24su.com/forum/index.php?members/calblade.14787/ posts it on the72.co.uk (that's a sauce as reliable as Hendo's ;-)
Thanks, my source is on his Hols atm as will I very soon so don't expect much from me over the next few weeks. All I can think on this is that Hendo could well be the trialist in this piece http://the72.co.uk/31202/trialist-turmoil-for-blades/ and that he's either been
A)Turned down by Forest
B)Wants to see how he might fit in at the Blades and had another U-Turn from Forest.

He's just recently completed a trial at Forest and wasn't offered a contract. Any news on Mr Sharp Cal?

I am assuming this is all a bit of jollyhockeysticks banter rather than anything even remotely serious.

If it is, then, bluntly I will lose all faith in Adkins.

Could not think of a worse signing in all honesty. Was a disastrous signing for us 1st time round and has done feck all since.

UTB

Being fair to him. He's got 40 goals in 118 games since leaving us, mainly in the championship. (Better than 1 in 3 it's not like he's some absolute chancer.)

Not suggesting he's the answer to any problems but it's pushing it to suggest it's the end of the world if we offered him a trial.
