Feels like he’s lost the fans, owners must be flexing their sphincters but are there any signs / feelings he’s lost the dressing room. He says the group is tight, heads are sound etc but after his Phil Brown on the pitch dressing down does he have the dressing room?

Does anyone have any respect for Wilder? Massive ego. Massive budget. Great squad. Lose 3 in the bounce when it matters.

Would love to see anyone try to defend him if you don't win the playoffs.

Saw a post from an anonymous person on YorkBlade's Sheff United Way saying not only were we fighting with Plymouth players but our own players were fighting each other (specifically Peck and Cannon)

So my answer is yes, the dressing room has been lost and there's a divide between the players

Should be okay. I don't think they would have moved it without telling him.

While you can only sit at home and watch the play offs

Well something has drastically gone wrong since the Coventry game.

Putting Wilders baffling team selection choices to one side it does have the whiff of they’re not really putting it in for him.

The only obvious common denominator for the sudden decline in form that I can see is not starting O’hare. I’m sure that cannot be the only reason but must have a contributing factor. He does so much ‘knitting’ throughout our play. As well as the harassment he causes to the opposition in to making mistakes and losing the ball. He reminds me of those annoying wasps that drive you crazy whilst having a beer, or food outside at the end of the summer that just won’t leave you alone. Hamer, one of the most important players in the team thrives from the link ups with him - they know each others game inside out so WTF drop him?

I for one did not expect an easy game yesterday. I was immediately concerned with our lack of tempo which made me think do they really understand the importance of getting a positive result today? as from the off it really didn’t look like they did.

We had two attempts on goal from what I remember. One was JRS’s goal and the other was Tyrese’s wayward shot when he came on. Two fuckin attempts on goal for the entire game against the bottom of the league?

So yeah there clearly is a problem somewhere.
We would need a miracle to rectify whatever it is before the play offs.

As it stands at the minute it breaks my heart to say I don’t see us winning another game this season.

I honestly don't think it's anything like 'losing the dressing room', there's not really been a drastic drop off in performances. We've managed to edge pretty much every tight game we've had all season and even won a few where we've been second best. This has finally caught up with us.

Tactically we simply aren't very good, we've relied on individual talent and mentality to get us this far, that's now coming a bit unstuck.

I don't think he's lost the dressing room and I'm not sure he's lost the fans unless you're basing it on 30 or so bedwetters on this site. It's simply a meltdown based on 3 poor performances at a critical point in the season. Yes it's extremely disappointing but if people take a step back and look at where we're at after last season it can't be doubted he's done a good job. Some of the football has been turgid for sure but who of us wouldn't have taken our current league position after last seasons capitulation? He's rebuilt a decent squad, lost Arblaster and Souttar to serious injuries, add Souza to that to some extent as well. At the end of last season people on this forum were predicting we'd drop like a stone through the leagues or at best be lower half of the championship table. It hasn't happened and that's down to the manager. They need to improve and quickly but the seasons not over yet regardless of what some want to believe.

While he's made mistakes, especially in the last few games, I don't think he's lost the dressing room.

I think some of the players have lost their nerve a little bit and are letting the pressure get to them.

It's been said plenty of times that Sunderland have a young squad this season (and they do), but our squad isn't much older but probably a little more experienced.

Did anyone else see this?
From my observation post match (at the match) that is pure fiction
Well - not actually saw this but saw a soft scuffle in the tunnel and assumed it must be Cannon and Peck tearing lumps off each other as Wilder has completely lost the dressing room - nearly a kind of factish . Good enough for me . Saw it all with my own agenda

There are 20 teams in this league who would swap places with us in a heartbeat

Must admit I did not see anyone having a pop, but could see logic if peck was having a go.
He wears his heart on his sleeve and always gives 100% and runs his knackers off every match.
Cannon is the alternative, never closing down, makes half hearted attempts to run the channels, never challenges in the air and often runs up to opposition players and feigns a challenge. The goal we scored featured him backing out of a challenge by stepping back for their guy to have a free header. May be a plan as he was crap and headed to straight to Hamer

Is it a great squad? We barely even had a squad for most of the season, and even now it's nowhere near as good as the top two.

Easy to be negative and I'm often near the front of the queue but we're not done yet. Probs gonna have to do it the hard way again but the manager and players are capable if they can get themselves back in the room.
Exactly
Fed up of the doommongering
History is just that, there's no reason why we can't go into the playoffs believing we can win them

I don't think he has the fans at all, bar a few empty vessels rattling louder than the average fan, who still have an agenda against Wilder for how he left us previously. They can't let it go & every time we don't thrash teams 5-0 or fall below usual standards they start again, talk about holding a grudge.

Having two players arguing in the same team is a good thing IMO, I have witnessed it personally loads of times & it always settles down. At least they care.

That wouldn't have been a fight, believe me. Cannon would just be turning round on the spot, not knowing what to do or where to go, while Peck would have been unleashing hell on him. Mind you, if Cannon was as nifty at moving his head away from punches as he is at moving it away from the ball, Peck would be lucky to land one.

To be accurate, Wilder can't control himself. The pressure is showing and he's reverting to type. The signs are all there, again.

He stays to the end of the season then we must change direction
We cannot go on tying our future to a guy who is far too emotionally involved and engaged.
We need clarity and an ability to adapt and flex to the needs of the modern game.

We should be talking about the team more than him. It's tiresome now, and can't be good for him long term

If your point is that the Cov game was an outlier and the last three have been the status quo across the whole season, then I wouldn't necessarily disagree, but the last four games in isolation have gone from maybe the best performance I've seen since the home game where we smashed Villa, to back to back to back dogshit, and I don't know how you describe that as anything other than a drastic drop off in performances
