Saw a post from an anonymous person on YorkBlade's Sheff United Way saying not only were we fighting with Plymouth players but our own players were fighting each other (specifically Peck and Cannon)

So my answer is yes, the dressing room has been lost and there's a divide between the players
Based on an anonymous person from a podcast. That’s a sound basis to confirm that the dressing room has been lost.

Isn’t Jack the goal scoring coach?……………..I don’t think he had much involvement at all this season tbh 🤔
He's definitely on the bench with other coaches and comes out now and again to speak to wilder or 4th official

Agree. Most of my pre season objectives have been achieved already. These relate to progression of young players, ownership, club finances, play offs and not losing both derbies.
How ambitious of you
I particular like the way you didn't want to lose the derby's rather than want to win them

Done nothing for years, bar U21s, none of our forwards could hit a barn door, Mcburnie, Brewster, Jebbison, Cannon, Asula etc, what is he teaching/ doing in training?. Needs to be on his way with Wilder,Knill and the rest
Yeah that’s a point, especially regarding Cannon. Why is this player seemingly not being versed on how United play. It’s as though he never got the memo.

How would you describe how we play & what his role will be to a new striker?

I'd say that if United finish third, then that's par for the course. I don't think it's anything to do with losing dressing rooms. The reason why these defeats have been highlighted is because they've all come at once. If they'd been spread out over the course of the season nobody would be complaining so much.

It’s not the three defeats but the manner in which they came.

There was a real sense of a feeling of we had absolutely blown it on the away end yesterday.

I’ve got absolutely no idea about the workings of why Cannon was selected yesterday. He’s not produced anything yet and looks bereft of confidence and probably not the man to pick for a must win game

I wouldn't disagree with what you say about his team selections, but I'm not sure that indicates that the dressing room has been lost. Cannon's badly out of form at present, but there's a very good player in there. For me the weak link's Robinson, and the other players know it, both in United's ranks and in those of their opponents.

I know we have a terrible play off record , but writing us off before a balls kicked is only ever possible by blades fans

theres no other fans in football would be so pessimistic

we did the double over 6TH PLACED Coventry , and have something we have lacke at other play offs , goal scorers

IT TOOK PRESTON 10 GOES TO WIN A PLAY OFF , WE ARE WELL OVER DUE

I'm sorry but what have you seen from Cannon to suggest he's a very good player? I'm not criticising him as he isn't the one that made us pay the money we did for him - But I've seen nothing at all that suggests he's a good player.

Err Coventry you say that didn't go too well at their place, correct me if I'm wrong but until Hamer came up with the free kick into the top corner they were all over us. We get a quality 2nd goal and they are chasing the game. They missed a few very good chances before we sealed the win with a third. If we meet them again it will not be so easy, teams chasing games always leave gaps. Bristol too battered us before getting a deserved last minute equaliser. Go into the play off thinking we only have to turn up and we won't even make Wembley.

I don't think he's lost the dressing room and I'm not sure he's lost the fans unless you're basing it on 30 or so bedwetters on this site. It's simply a meltdown based on 3 poor performances at a critical point in the season. Yes it's extremely disappointing but if people take a step back and look at where we're at after last season it can't be doubted he's done a good job. Some of the football has been turgid for sure but who of us wouldn't have taken our current league position after last seasons capitulation? He's rebuilt a decent squad, lost Arblaster and Souttar to serious injuries, add Souza to that to some extent as well. At the end of last season people on this forum were predicting we'd drop like a stone through the leagues or at best be lower half of the championship table. It hasn't happened and that's down to the manager. They need to improve and quickly but the seasons not over yet regardless of what some want to believe.
At last, someone with some perspective.

im unsure if hes lost the dressing room but he needs to get a grip and stop getting mad when we loose and put all his energy into more direct play and get tat leaking defence sorted and play 2 wingers allgame arrrr come on gaffer you can win games let lads take shackles off just relax pal let them do the talking let lads hammer teams buddy do your direct play intent wins on the pitch to win again like youve done before KEEP COOL M8 its really upseting to loose to 3 average teams in a row arrrr, but it is what it is we always seem to do stuff over the years the hard way we are due a PLAY OFF final WIN just get play offs won tufty gaffer to redeem yourself pal.,utb..ID LET TOM CANNON LOOSE IN THE PLAY OFFS he will be the hero youll see he will proove a good gaffer buy youll see he will break his duck in play offs youll see we will win play offs us blades YOULL SEE chowmkeep calm WE WONT FAIL YOULL SEE

Based on how's he's been previously at other clubs. He's shown nothing at United thus far, but he's absolutely out of form at present.

Need to win a game of football on Friday and everyone will feel a bit better about the playoffs. Get back to what we know we can do and we're the best side out of the 4. This season isn't over yet
Are we better ? We mugged Sunderland at Home mugged lBristol away and got a luck draw at home only 1 game in 6 we looked dominant

No we havent done the double over Coventry this season -But for example we did the double over Palace a team we then met in the play off final rest is history. Previous results in the league mean nothing as we know to well.

Common knowledge that this happened when we drew 3-3 with Villa the other year. Doesn't mean CW has lost the dressing room. I'm all for it, about time some took responsibility and starting calling others out.

So you think players with the chance of premier league football and all that brings are downing tools because they don't like someone.

Do you hear how stupid this sounds?!

Players know even if they fail this season they will suitors in the summer.

The issue is we want (need) to head into the playoffs with a sense of confidence. Ive had a strong feeling we'll finish 3rd most of the season, that isn't a shock to me. But what is a shock is how damn mediocre we look more often than not considering out league position.

So let's look and remember just the bad results so we can go into miserable....and depressed as we love it like that...we only live for the heartache

Exactly ist the United way, has been all my life of supporting them 60 plus years - nowt's changed

The glass is always half empty and that's just who we are.

I honestly don't think it's anything like 'losing the dressing room', there's not really been a drastic drop off in performances. We've managed to edge pretty much every tight game we've had all season and even won a few where we've been second best. This has finally caught up with us.

Tactically we simply aren't very good, we've relied on individual talent and mentality to get us this far, that's now coming a bit unstuck.
I think that this is exactly the case. The difference between us winning and losing is largely dependent on one or a few key players turning up and doing something special. Hamer was simply outstanding against Coventry, but has been poor for the last three games. Ty Campbell has been a revelation with his finishing, but has been off it for the last couple. Overall team performance and results have trended in exactly the same way.
I don’t think we need to go hunting for rumour-based theories about losing the dressing room, fights between players etc. It’s much simpler than that - most of our squad can’t get past a well organised team, we’ve got a few exceptional talents who can do this but who don’t turn up consistently, and we don’t have a clear system or method on which we can rely, beyond hoping that a key player produces some magic. Here’s hoping for a rich sprinkling of that magic between now and the end of the season.
