Cracking deal that,

I would love to see Steve Bruce's face when they do sprint training/beep tests at the Humber Jungle Cats.

£2.5million, unbelieveable.

Always amazes me how were ready to accept our manager saying what he says over someone else just because he's our manager.Last weak Bruce quite clearly said they were looking at other options and that they moved on,and then yesterday we accept a bid, when normally you hear from the club making the bid first, for example,Hull make an improved offer for Harry Maguire for a fee in the region of........,that never happened.Get them red and white specs off for once ffs. They are 2 people saying different things,so why the fuck can't someone have an opinion on there version of events.

I find it hilarious, the first time our club tries to play hardball, and look what happens.

1.Reject the first bid
2. reject the second bid expecting a higher offer
3. Higher offer never comes
4. Go crawling back to the second offer, pretending that was 'our true valuation of the player'!

Shit performance again really. If we don't need to sell, an they didn't meet our valuation, then that should be the end of that. Sadly, I suspect we aren't as financially flush as the club is pretending it is and it's a bid of same old story in the transfer market. And AGAIN the big loss comes at the END of the window, why can't we ever do business early!

Excuse me pal, I think your calendars dodgy.

It's July 29th just for your records, transfer window shuts beginning of September.

How many players have we brought in?

It has been open for a whole 28 days tho.... Not to mention that Clough has obviously been planning for life without harry for a while, hence the influx of defenders.....

Stop panicking the loan window opens after the transfer window closes .................... Championship striker............ loan ;);) same owd, same owd.

'suppose Harry and Hull are made for each other. Both odd looking fuckers!

Or: we intended to take Hull's latest offer but tried to see if we could squeeze more out of them. We couldn't so took that offer.

Nothing wrong with that.

All I have to say now about Harry is that he gave me some proud moments. However the petulance and disrespect he's shown to the club results in me eradicating any sort of respect for him. He didn't give a shit and why should I about him. That's why I will not wish him good or bad luck in the future.

But if his career was to go downhill from now then I couldn't help but have a wee grin on my face.
He probably took a leaf from the Steve Bruce "How to force a move by having a tantrum like a toddler" book. They should get on like a house on fire.

I'm peeved about it.
He was our best player.
It's very well saying its good business, but selling your best players gets you nowhere.
I know there's very little the club could have done, but I'm peeved all the same.
Also peeved for my lad as well who at 5 years old is just starting to get interested and attached himself to Harry as his favourite player (shortly followed by Brayford & then Coady). So its 'sorry son your favourite player now plays for the mighty hull cause they have lots more money than us. - thats football! Also your 2nd & 3rd favourites arent coming back. Pick a new favourite, and be prepared to do it every year if he turns out to be any good. cause thats football.
I stopped reading at "he was our best player". Sorry

As always plenty of negativity on here.

Clough covered himself for this outcome with the defensive signings.
We would be a lot more pissed off if Clough was going and not Mcguire.

Like most, I don't like how Maguire has engineered the move in the end

You're right - I can't believe we weren't able to just tell Wolves to get lost, and for this to all happen in the last week of the window is a joke really.

Wait, what?

So yet again we lose one of our best players, under contract, for not a fat lot, and the 1st 11 at it stands is weaker than the one that finished last season. And we have no chance of promotion with this forward line.

Game changing investment?

Ha.

As ever, it's not what United say. It's what they do.

We've been after a decent forward ever since Ched departed. I was pretty confident that we would finally get some one this close season, but the first game is nearly upon us and still no one in through the door other than McNulty who may or may not be answer. Some of the names that are still doing the rounds jeez, Connor Sammon, God I hope not. Hoping things change before the BC match.

Good business in my opinion. You cant have the tail wagging the dog. Good luck to him, but imho he aint a premiership CH.
Maybe he will become one, but its tough out there.

For those of you who don't think Harry will be a big loss I'd just like to throw this into the mix.

Here's the total number of league goals conceded in the last three seasons by the 24 teams that will compete in League One this season.

130 Swindon
139 Sheffield United
157 MK Dons
157 Fleetwood
163 Preston
164 Walsall
165 Bradford
166 Chesterfield
166 Crawley
168 Leyton Orient
176 Scunthorpe
180 Gillingham
184 Oldham
185 Port Vale
189 Notts County
194 Doncaster
195 Colchester
196 Coventry
199 Rochdale
201 Crewe
210 Peterborough
211 Yeovil
219 Bristol City
221 Barnsley

Just sayin'.

Harry wanted to.go! I think he engineered it, but whatever onwards and upwards. So trust in Clough and UTB, and stop crying over nothing!

But that equation only works if you believe promotion depended on Harry. I don't think that's true, though it obviously makes it more difficult.

Fine. You think it makes it more difficult but we can still go up.

I don't see it. With this shitty forward line our only hope was a lot of 1-0 wins. Selling our best defender makes that very hard to achieve.

If the general view is that he's behaved badly then he'll get more stick next time we play Hull, (compared to Quinn, for example who I don't recall being widely abused).

Apart from plenty of muppets who 'support' United and wouldn't know a decent player if he hit them.

Anyway, all the best Harry BUT...

This hurts...

How anybody can say its good buisness is very premature, wait until we see,1)what happens with the money plus the other supposable money we have and 2)where we are at the end of the season. Then, and only then, can anyone really say, whether it is good buisness or not.

As for him been a prem CH,at the minute i'd have to agree with you there, but Bruce might be doing a clough and say he's one for the future.
