Quick update for you re the beer fest, tickets are selling well, we by my rough calculation have only 50+ tickets left so if there are any late comers who want to attend I suggest you PM Sheepdipblade (ok with this sheepdip ?) as he has done a tremendous job re getting the list of attendees from the Blades so far.

We meet with our bar manager in a few weeks time to sort out the beers & ciders so a list will be posted on here as soon as we know what is going to be on the bar.

Food will be available at the venue, there is a steak bar & I am seeing the chef next week to see what else he is planning by the way of food for people to purchase.

For those of you attending the beer festival in June, I spoke to the Chef at the ground yesterday and the food that will be available at the ground for you to purchase will be from either the "Steak Bar" menu or the "Bar menu" there would also be "vegetarian" options available if required.

I have put down on the list for our beer manager the "Spire" recommendation from Sheepdipblade.

Been speaking to Rodney on the Vics Forum who has the godforsaken task of tracking down prizes for the raffle. I'll contribute a Blades gnome and have sent a (so far unreplied to) e-mail to the Lane re a signed shirt or some other contribution. Is there anyone else who might have something to put into the pot - or who could lean on the Lane a little?

Any thoughts about travel arrangements or accom?

We've got two cars coming from S8 that *should* have spare seats in and we've booked into the Travelodge mentioned in post #61. It's showing at £29 at the moment. Figured the cars would be left there and it's a couple of taxis to get us all to the ground (should be about 5 miles).

EDIT: Pez, don't know if you'll still be keeping an eye on this thread but if you have any numbers for reliable local taxi companies, they'd be appreciated

Looks like I'll be taking the Blades gnome, as Sheepdip will be travelling back from Scotland for the festival of hops, malt and ..... hops and malt. Maybe some barley.

I'll also send summat to Rooker or Garrett about a shirt as well. They're both decent lads.

I'd just like to know if I'm getting one or not. I've been potentially offered one but there's no way I'm booking a room for thirty quid on a "maybe". This ticket was one that somebody else was having, then wasn't, and now somebody else has been offered it. If it turns out that somebody else is having it then I'll not bother, and save myself the cost of the room, and the dicking about.

*Edit. Sod it. Either way I'll not bother, thanks. If Mrs SV does a night shift that night she can earn over £150 anyway, so me not spending it and her earning it will help swell the coffers. So thanks to Sheepdip, but no thanks.

Pez has offered a late bus to take pissed up Blades back to the Travelodge at Knutsford - but before we commit to the idea could we get some idea of how many people are planning to use the Knutsford Travelodge, and whether or not you'd want to use the laid on transport (be cheaper than a taxi - and with some of the money going to the event organisers to support their club).
