Can anyone tell me what TC had to say on the pitch.....we couldn't hear anything on the John Street.

Sort the speakers out UTD!

TC at Half Time

That video of Currie at half time, was that just to rub it in after a half of football that poor?

Still, it was great to see the man in his pomp, and not just as the miserable kids coach that I've known him as.

Oops missed this thread!

He basically said that there was an article in the programme which would say everything better, but that he was thankful to everyone, loved the place etc.

Thanks for that.

He may have been some player but a public speaker.....perhaps not!

:)

Aye, said this

"Bone, Bone, Bone,
Bone, Bone, Bone,
Bone, Bone, Bone,
So tell me what ya gonna do
(When there ain’t nowhere to run)
When judgement comes for you
(When judgement comes for you)
So tell me what ya gonna do
(There ain‘t no place to hide)
When judgement comes for you
(Cos it‘s gonna come for you)

See you at the crossroads, crossroads, crossroads
See you at the crossroads, crossroads, crossroads"

Shit, forgot, I had my ipod on!

Yeah it was just platitudes basically :D

Imagine if he'd had to go it in front of a full crowd!

remember when TC sat on the ball ?

all that were present have a fish :fishbowl:

For all those not stuck in the past and like a stuck record keep going on and on and on about it, have a horse:
:gallop:

Missed the video as I was inside the South Stand with my lad cos we were feeling very cold! How many goals were shown? Is there a new DVD of TC's goals available to purchase?

The speakers on JSS droned continually throughout the last home game .... very annoying .

Great to see. Silent Blade you missed a treat, should have wrapped up warmer. I've seen the video somewhere, I'll have to get to the club shop for another DVD. Don't entirely agree that TC's success depended on his partnership with Woody although it was fruitfull. Woodward was also superb on his own merits. I was at lot of those matches shown. I particularly remember the "quality goal from a quality player" goal, we'd come from 0-2 down I believe and I was next to loads of West Ham fans on the kop and it was just sweet when he scored.

Said he felt like he'd been at the "Lane for 99 years", thanked the fans, commented that he didn't have the time to say everything he wanted in a couple of minutes.

I've asked him a couple of times when his autobiography was coming out.

Keenzy, Your original comment. What you on about ?

remember this un ............

we aint got a barrel of money ............but we've got Woodward an Currie an wi Eddie Colqhoun promotion is soon .......:D

bet keenzy can't remember it ! :p

TC scored some good uns, but its the work he did with Woody that made them special. Can't have Morecambe without Wise...

Walthamstow Snr says that when Sheffield United played well, Tony Currie played well but when Keith Eddy played well, Sheffield United played well.

It showed a lot of his goals and I was suprised just how many were from well out. I always thought his best for United was the one against Liverpools Ray Clemence at the lane from around 25-30 yards.

Quite a few goals were shown, most of which are on that 100 goals video, but no doubt there were some extra BBC ones on there too. I recognised the belter Vs Liverpool, the header against City, the "quality goal from a quality player" and I think some from the Watney Cup. There were also a couple from his Leeds days including that incredible bending shot against Southampton.

I'm far to young to have seen TC, I just spend too much time watching my Dad's old videos.

Thanks to whoever merged the threads by the way.

I wasn't at the game, but, off the top of my head, I think the following Currie goals were in televised games:

18/10/69 Blackpool (h)
1/11/69 Blackburn (h)
28/2/70 Blackburn (a)
24/10/70 Hull (a)
30/10/71 Liverpool (h)
12/2/72 Man City (h)
29/7/72 Notts Co (A - Watney Cup) (2)
1/9/73 Chelsea (a)
9/11/74 Luton (a)
18/1/75 Spurs (a)
22/3/75 WHU (h) (2)
19/4/75 Everton (a)
26/4/75 Leicester (h)

Darren... Off the top of your head??? I can't list our last 5 televised games!

I remember his first game, versus Spurs. A night match.

Walthamstow, Currie preceded Eddy at the Lane by a good few years I think and was already turning into the finished aricle when Eddy arrived, also coincidentally from Watford, as was Stuart Scullion.

Saw Eddy score the winner at Old Trafford virtually relegated Man U.

Currie signed in Feb 68, Scullion in May 71 and Eddy in July 72. Currie had already played for England when Eddy signed.

Eddy's goal at Man Utd was on 23/4/73 in a 2-1 win. It didn't virtually relegate them. It was the following season they went down.

The above game was televised but due to power problems, they missed the first two goals (TC and Addison). When the power was restored they were able to film Hodgy's penalty save before Woody and Badger got further goals for us

He said something like he'd probably speak to us all in the next programme anyway, but he wanted to take this opportunity to say thank you for the support, and he loved serving us as a club and now as an employee, but he'd speak to us all in the next programme anyway and thanks.

Programme was mentioned two or three times!!
