Agree. Buggered Up Shoulder is funny when you first hear it but once you have, you'd rather hear the original. Similarly, 'oil int ruwad' is faintly nostalgic for people over 40 (or 30 perhaps, I've lost track) but I couldn't listen to them for two hours or more.EPB are very good at what they do. Having said that to me they are a novelty band, a one trick pony. They are the equivalent. of the ultimate 'Bladey Blade' who wallow in the nostalgia of being from Sheffield and play up to every Sheffield stereotype. They are a 'Sheffey Sheff'. Particularly the singer Shaun who tries to be the most 'Sheffield' of the lot of them. He only just stops short of saying he was brought up in a hole in the street ( a reference for the older forum users).
I saw a concert of theirs at the Crucible. They were on stage for well over two hours which was about an hour and a half too long. Their 'trick' is to change the lyrics and put a Sheffield slant on well known classics, and once you've got the 'joke' that's all there is to them. Having said that the packed crucible seemed to love them!
Mildly entertaining for a few songs but that's as far as it goes.

It could be me being an idiot, but is this(or someone in the band) Pete McKee the artist?
Pete & Charlie McKee and Bails are Owls.Any Blades amongst their throng, or just alien pigs?
Pete & Charlie McKee and Bails are Owls.
Big Shaun was a Blade until he married a Wendy and then went over to the dark side, although they both seemed to lose interest after the last promotion. He's also my big brother
Possibly met you a few times years ago, he was in Sikorski with a good mate of minePete & Charlie McKee and Bails are Owls.

Alex Turner, Jarvis, dunno, Phil Oakley?, Richard HawleyWhile I'm doing my Pete McKee research, can anyone tell me who these are?View attachment 14306
No Elliot or Joe Cocker then?Alex Turner, Jarvis, dunno, Phil Oakley?, Richard Hawley
Tony Christie?Alex Turner, Jarvis, dunno, Phil Oakley?, Richard Hawley
I don't know how exclusively "sheffield" this picture is supposed to be but isn't Christie from Donny?Tony Christie?
You wouldn't want to be around our Shaun with his shoes offHow does that work then? Surely grounds for divorce.
Does your brother Shaun take his shoes and socks off round the house, or did he just save that delight for the Crucible?![]()
I didn't hang around with Sikorski at all. I am in touch with Kiain the bassist through a mutual interest in photography thoughPossibly met you a few times years ago, he was in Sikorski with a good mate of mine

'Tony, Jarvis, Phil, Richard and Alex have a pint in the snug at Fagan's.'Dunno, but I think they might be sat in the Uni Arms
I wish he had put Joe Elliot in there.Pete McKee immortalised some of Sheffield’s music legends in Legends in Fagans (Made in Sheffield) as part of his 22 Views of Sheffield collection. It shows Richard Hawley, Jarvis Cocker, Alex Turner, Phil Oakey and Tony Christie tucking into a pint and a fag in the snug![]()
