SW was, and still is little more than some irritating little whiny bloke who's not bad on the piano. I doubt he'd class himself as a "pop" singer, and his work in the 70's was so memorable I can't remember any of it.

Not a big fan of him myself as it happens, but it takes a complete teat to deny his influence, whether you like him or not.

You are right, music is very much about opinions. You do seem to have a habit of proclaiming yours very loudly, which I will take to mean that you either think that yours are somehow worth more than other people's, or alternatively that you are a complete teat.......
