Our vocal support is shit right now ..... too many boozers closed in the vicinity of the ground .

Went on the Kop for the Posh game..the atmosphere was decent, but one thing I noticed was the singers are to spread out along the back sections, hardly ever get a chant going in unison..there must be 3 or 4 different sections.
In the old days the most vocal core was mainly in the back middle sections...The other problem is they seem more interested in looking at their phones than the game...I also wish they would stop prompting the GCB song ..it's like we're forced to sing it,and particularly 2nd half it sounds half hearted.

When I need a bit of pick up from the lane, I go on utube and look at the video some charlton fan put on there after the final whistle, when we beat them in the quarter final. Cracking atmosphere.

So are we the great supporters some people would have us believe HG?
In numbers, yes, I believe we are, but in creating a good atmosphere? Sadly not any more it seems.

When we were in the Premier League a lot of our fans at away games used to mock the big clubs for lack of singing etc. The truth was that a game against us was something they weren't in the slightest bit "up for" as fans and expected their team to go out on the pitch and won with little effort required.

We have the same problem in this league, the quicker we get out and back to the championship when we become underdogs in some games the quicker the atmosphere will return.

A good way to get a bit of noise from the fans would be to stop the slaphead Sinclair from playing John feckin Denver at every opportunity, he more than anyone has destroyed the atmosphere at the lane till we as fans are almost waiting to be prompted by the tannoy to get a song going. Tom Hark was my pet hate for killing natural goal celebrations but now not content with playing John Denver at each kick off he plays it at the final whistle killing any ovation from the crowd at the end of the game, I'm only surprised he hasn't found a shit song to play when we win a corner or a throw in.

That bloody Tom Hark song, don't remind me. T'other day looked at our goals against Wendy on You Tube when Browny scored, the match was on Sky and the cameras were on the crowd celebrating the goal to bloody Tom Hanks music and to be honest it looked naff.

Dur de dur dur de dur...........
