I think we are the most patient and most loyal but just fed up after six years at this crap level.
It's true and until we start playing big games in The Championship or latter stages of a cup it's not going to change.
Didn't help attacking the away end 2nd half last night. That is one of the rule changes I would make let the home side chose which way they want to kick, it's supposed to be home advantage.
So are we the great supporters some people would have us believe HG?
In numbers, yes, I believe we are, but in creating a good atmosphere? Sadly not any more it seems.
Last night was the quietest it's been in a while, but I actually think the noise levels have held up relatively well given the previous years disinterested shite being served up. Not brilliant, but it could be much worse.
It's not arrogant to suggest that most away fans coming to a 32,700 capacity ground in the 3rd Division are bound to raise their game a bit, whereas for us it's a routine thing.
Of course, the atmosphere would be much better if the South Stand hadn't become so gentrified and the John Street wasn't a creche.
Why don't you get it going in the south stand/ family stand then?Don't slag the fans...

On a serious note. I got slated on the "view from Peterborough" thread. It's quiet it really is. It's getting better but, I sit nearer to the away end than the Kop and despite what the Kopites say, the noise doesn't travel very well.. Hence the chant (again) "Is this a library".
I do wish we could sing at 0-0.
Why don't you get it going in the south stand/ family stand then?
Or failing that seemingly impossible task, join us on the kop and help generate atmosphere in the only area of the ground that sings
They did Tuesday once we'd scored and sounded very loud. Didn't last long though.Who wants to be "that" guy that stands up and sings on their own?
Singing is a domino effect, unfortunately the dominos don't fall in the edges of the kop either so they don't really fall on the south or John street.
H block on south try to start songs every now and then but not often.
Let's be fair, there's still a lot more work to go before we really start to believe that this isn't just a brief good run and the players need to show their current levels of effort and desire, with results, for the rest of the season. If we can keep up with that then we can start worrying about the fans if they're still not backing them.
It's taken us a long time to sink this low and it'll take a while to undo the feelings of negativity in the crowd.
Not saying it was dog shit but our performance was not good for long spells the other night against a team who were non league a couple of seasons back. We are improving but it will take time before noise levels increase, the team is nowhere near good just yet.
I pay £400+ for my season ticket and that of my mate's son in the South Stand. I do not need to be told that I am not supporting the team. Fucking arsehole.
This: someone once said that turning the club around is like turning round a supertanker, I think that the fans will turn at the same speed and get louder as the season goes on, as long as the players do their bit.
Somewhat unrelated, but I'd like to see John Street stand split again, to allow adults to purchase tickets on there without a child.
I remember when it was built half of the stand (closest to Kop) was the family enclosure and the other half, just whoever. The stand is by far the most empty home end and I feel something should be done to encourage people to sit there and create a bit more of an atmosphere.
Definitely agree with that and was going to post similar myself.
The south stand is dead but there's not much space available. John Street on the other hand is always half empty - largely due to the 'must be with a child' policy. How often have we seen our players celebrating in front of nobody on that side after scoring at the Bramall Lane end? We could start using that space much better.
When there is any sort of atmosphere it only comes from the Kop. The club could do more to try and create another noisy area. The Bramall Lane end of John Street would be ideal. I think plenty would move over there if the pricing was OK, I would. It'd be good to move away from the Kop without moving away from the atmosphere.
I sat there for one of the Cup games once. There are plenty of miserable bastards in there who would sour milk with a glance. I stood up at half time and when the bloke behind me came back after queuing for his Bovril he asked me to sit down and the players had only just started coming out of the tunnel. I suggested he didn't tug on my sleeve again and stood until kick off while he told everyone around him. I bet he posts on here![]()
It doesn't matter. We shall take over and overpower them.
but then three of the stands would be facing the wrong direction...Let's not fuck around.
BDTBL is a morgue.
It's NOT the only morgue in football, but it's still a morgue.
Now, if it was a Mosque, that'd be different.
