You can tell it's Olympics time as we've managed a new PB (maybe even a WR) on the call for Warnock to return. 3 games! Eat your heart out Kenny/Trott.

Occams RazorYou can tell it's Olympics time as we've managed a new PB (maybe even a WR) on the call for Warnock to return. 3 games! Eat your heart out Kenny/Trott.
Second was well offside, third you can`t tellHis reaction, to blame two 'offside goals' that weren't actually offside, was quite embarrassing.
I'm not calling for his head but I've lost most of the faith I had in him. The style of football being the main reason, it's dreadful.
I'm trying to not let my heart rule my head. I could start getting all emotional, as we have had enough rubbish over the last few years, but I said to a friend of mine at the beginning of the season, 'I hope the fans don't start getting on Chris Wilder's back if we don't start the season well'. We have indeed, not started the season well, but now is not the time for disunity and overt criticism. Part of the problem, is that we don't create any hope or belief at the Lane anymore. Let us, the fans, start believing again and perhaps the players will start believing too. Doing anything well in life is 90% having confidence and belief.
I like the word encourage, we need to en-courage our players, inspire them to courage and belief and let us see what a difference that makes.
he just stands there

And fucking man up. 3 games for pity's sake.
It was said by someone elsewhere, but that's what we did last night, second half when there was a sniff of something good happening on the pitch, the crowd got behind the team. To no-fucking-avail. I'm not going to overly criticise the team, I'm not going to applaud shite either.

Many years ago I used to watch my son play football. The manger of his team was a great encourager and a good manager. However good he was it was, it was the idiotic dads shouting on the sides that always demoralised a potentially good team. I hope you can see the connection.Correct me if I`m wrong but I thought all that was part of a managers job description.
And getting paid shed loads more than the loyal, long suffering lumpen proletariat that pay to watch.

Fair enough, I wouldn't expected applause for poor play. But in forums like this, when fellow fans are reading posts as such and such is shit, he is useless, etc. it creates an atmosphere, a belief system to come into play. And that has wider affects than a few fans discussing the game. Of course, let us be real, critical when needed, but let us season our thoughts with wisdom.
Can't like this enough Rev.
Put on another thread, 4 matches in and I'm still not convinced he's aware we don't have the players for 442.
Losing faith with CW big time, problem is I can only see sacking him making things worse.
Happy times![]()
Same question to you ,if no one is asking for Wilders head what do all these posters think Warnock is going to do ,make the tea ?Unfortunately sitwell you are not seeing what we are. As LS26BLADE said people who have sat together for years and shared banter were screaming at each other in the stands, others walked out, very little booing just one ripple at the end of each half as the realisation set in we are a toxic club for whatever reason and it's hurting.
Can't say I've heard anyone have a a go at wilder so it's a bit out of order posting a rebuke for something the fans have not done! As for Wilder he does appear clueless on the sideline. He made a big thing about keeping Long and played hardball with his contract, problem is his initial decision to make Long No1 is open to inspection. Similarly his apparent faith in Scoogle when we see him being pushed out of the way on or off the ball.
As for negotiations to apparently employ every pig veteran it questions if his hard stance on contracts and wages are realistic or is he out of touch with how far the money tree has infected the lower divisions? One thing is for sure those he has brought in (maybe Clarke apart) his vision of building a fast attacking side is in tatters. He's replaced dross lookin for a payday with unknown dross.
In summary McCabe has acted to resolve the problems he created with appointments and funding by employing a Warnockesk charecter who unfortunately appears to be running the team part of the club like a passionate fan. He's blaming everything including the officials who were not at fault more than any others, but credit where it's due he has taken responsibility for players he's brought in not performing. As for his decision to make Billy Captain it appears to have backfired big time by negating him as an attacking force. Last night he was back in the trenches defending deep on several occasions when he should have been upfront.
So please with all due respect to a seasoned well respected poster when we are all hurting don't tell us to "man up for pity's sake" it doesn't change anything especially when we managed 1 shot on target in two home defeats. We used to call it fortress BDTBL and wouldn't expect to lose more than 2 all season not our first 2 to village teams.
As always sitters![]()
Was that really 442?.....still looked like 4231 to me with Sharp trying to play deeper than Clarke in the 3.......why he was hardly ever there for the flick ons.
I think they would look more solid and play better if we did play a standard 442.
I don't understand.. Posters on here criticising players for abject performances will have wider effects?? It's not junior football, these players are paid and by you and I to deliver a standard of service. I understand that abusing them pitchside may be counter-productive, but if they brave/stupid enough to come on this forum and then be all upset being called shit??
I don't like it when a player gets called names for being a poor player, but having that poor play scrutinised? Well that's been done for as long as there have been fans going to watch the game. If there is an atmosphere about the Club, it's not as a consequence of this or any other forum.
Anyway, three wins on the trot and it will be transformed, the players will get the plaudits... because they delivered, not the forums.
For want of a nail the shoe was lost.
For want of a shoe the horse was lost.
For want of a horse the rider was lost.
For want of a rider the battle was lost.
For want of a battle the kingdom was lost.
And all for the want of a horseshoe nail.
If you don't understand I can't explain it to you.
Hillmorton.......I'm not saying it is the fans fault, And you are right, the fans have a right to scrutinise poor play and discuss. The only point I am trying to make is that fans have a part to play in creating team confidence. Keep believing my friend.I got it, it's the fans fault.
Another constant is you slagging off every manager at every given opportunity ,when does this boycott start ?What we should all do is man the fook up and clap clap clap the team into division four/league twothen we will have the right manager for the job in Wilder.
Nothing at all to suggest he is any good at this level so far, let's be right he is just another in the line of managers who will become the scapegoat for McCabe. We try those that like the passing game then when it dont work we get in a ex Blade who tries hoofball and the cycle continues.
One or two on here need to open their eyes and see where the real problem is at SUFC, after all their is only one constant through our years of decline and that is the owners.
Are you a journalist? Just wondered with you only part quoting him.
He said the lead up to the goals were our mistakes and no excuse BUT they were offside (which they were) an the linesman should be seeing that.
So, if the score is still 1-0 after 15 minutes, we would still have a chance.
The officials were poor throughout last night. No surprise though, had that for 5 years now
Not as constant as you roering man up to everyone every time it goes wrong. Tough talk isnt working.Another constant is you slagging off every manager at every given opportunity ,when does this boycott start ?

So what do you suggest ? I didn't want Wilson sacking and I certainly didn't want Clough sacking ,but I appreciate a lot of fans did. Look where that has got us.Not as constant as you roering man up to everyone every time it goes wrong. Tough talk isnt working.

What do I need to do to play my part? Sign me up
I need to separate my emotion from my reaction. I am angry at the lack of application from the players. I am disappointed that for all the managers talk, the tactics have been rubbish. I am frustrated that we should have to accept that the way out is to buy more players, when it patently has not worked yet.
But as you and sitwell suggest, and I did for most of last season, we need to give the manager time. I guess that's the real source of my pist-off-ness, allowing myself to get optimistic again. I am on holiday from Friday and will be away for two weekends, perhaps when I get back Captain Wilder will have turned the ship around (or at least swerved a couple of icebergs).
To be fair, you were quite quick to write Adkins off, so it's unclear where the line is drawn? So what do you suggest ? I didn't want Wilson sacking and I certainly didn't want Clough sacking ,but I appreciate a lot of fans did. Look where that has got us.
