It's same old United for me......and no that doesn't mean selling all your best players!
To me, it now means....
1. Fans in the stands split, arguing and bickering, fighting with each other and jeering and booing their own players.
2. No creativity, no willingness to take a game by the bollocks and push themselves to make the run, make the risky pass.
3. Unable to keep the ball for more than 5 passes in the attacking third
4. Lumping the ball forward, because fans can't wait to see the ball get forward. We must get the ball in the box regardless!
5. Losing millions of pounds and spending more than our rivals...laughing stock
6. Any player who arrives quickly catches the United bug, and loses all ability they had to pass the ball, control it and shoot.
If Wilder thinks we need to just launch the ball forwards, get it up there and then get bodies in and around the ball then he's the wrong manager for this club. That style of football is dead. There are enough teams in L1 capable of passing the ball, keeping the ball and passing their way around players headlessly chasing around after the ball.
we need a manager to encourage keeping it, getting the ball into feet quickly, switching play and making the most of space. But we need players with the brains to make runs and the vision to find those runs.
Since Clarke arrived we seem to have seen a change in tac to lump ball. As far as I am concerned, that is bollocks.
