Whilst everyone is sharpening their knives, have a scan down the names in the Next Southampton manager betting odds. These are the names we'd be looking at:

Rohl: Wouldn't come
Rosenior: Wouldn't come
C.Davies: Wouldn't come
Gerrard: Don't want.
Carrick: Don't want
Wagner: Don't want.
G. O'Neill: Don't want
Southgate: Don't want - Robbo Mk 2
Edwards: Don't Want.

I'm sure a good case can be made here for Dyche being a journeyman/has been.

Cooper would probably be up for it but I can't stand the guy.

Reckon Rosenior would come with a half decent budget.

Cooper would be unreal.

This squad is probably the best in the league.
Are you having a laugh?

Leeds have Struijk, Rodon, Firpo, Bogle, Ampadu, Solomon, James and Gnonto who’d start for us. And others who are incredible for a championship bench.

Burnley have Trafford, Estevé, Egan-Riley, Beyer, Brownhilll, Cullen, Ramsey, Flemming, Edwards and Hannibal who’d start for us.

The COH guys (Guessing mainly influenced by Des Taylor) are big fans of Gary O'Neill.

Wilder is better than all of them.

To be honest, at the end of July, I was just hoping we could consolidate our position in the Championship. Never did I expect to be where we are now. maybe we have blown auto's, but how many other sides would like to be in our position?????

I'd take Cooper. Forest played some enjoyable football in the Championship and I'm sure he'd get us playoffs minimum even if don't go up and lose alot of key players in the summer.

Worst manager we've ever had by some distance.
Bit hard to judge on just 13 games.

Weir wanted to try and build a team from the best young talent rejected by Premier League academies. That was his forte prior to us, coaching an academy team.

It might have worked if we'd given him time, but McCabe was obsessed with results..... hmm, familiar story! 🤔

Maybe Weir might have been a success if we'd ruled our promotion and given him a full season to bed in his ideas.

Where is he now? Director of football at Brighton where he's signing great young players and turning them into established Premier League players, some of whom have moved on for significant profit. His latest signing? 18 year old Tom Watson from Sunderland, the pacey winger who ripped us a new one all game.

A lot of Unitedites wouldn't be happy with anyone who doesn't have a connection to the club, I'm not sure why people think only ex United players can be successful here all this Bladey Bladey bollocks is just that Bollocks with a capital B. It's just like the clamour to give players a coaching role after they hang there boots up JOC, Billy, Jags give them a coaching job even though they might be useless at it or not even want to go down that road.
If Wilder wasn't a United fan he'd be getting a rough ride with some of the performances this season despite us scraping loads of 1-0 wins. That's without starting on his embarrassing antics of drunken dancing on tables after beating the pigs or his drunken antics at the civic reception after his last promotion, of course the thug element in the fan base lap it up great guy one of the lads. A few weeks later they are all a disgrace and should stay away, the bloke runs his gob off when things don't go well he blames anyone but himself refs, fans, or he may just publicly throw the players under the bus. Not hard to see why the fans of other clubs can't stand the bloke, he is more of an embarrassment to the club than Warnock was. Teams are finding out how to play against us Wilder has been found out and doesn't know how to change it, expect more parking the bus and long ball tactics from Plymouth and Cardiff which will more than likely get them points unless Wilder stumbles on to a way of breaking them down.

get off his back jeezzzz some really hate him on here get a grip youll not like anyone better others have failed youll never like no boss at s2 lane arrrrr just show chris wilder some respecto he biult this new team with not much money hes a Good sufc gaffer tufty, leave him be,,i back him no matter which league were in ,chow,,arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr, get off his back aarrrrrrrrrrrrr, ffs

Unfortunately our bladey blade managers have been our most successful since I've been supporting United.

Don't like Steve Cooper but if it's toothy Welshmen you're after, Mr Cheeseman from Dad's Army is worth a couple of quid at 16/1.
Cooper would actually get us playing football, win, lose or draw. He has good connections in the game and can sign good, pacey attack minded players and use them properly. He might have a face like a stroke victim in a strobe light, but he's a very good manager.

Rosenior wouldn't be a bad option.

We have the best manager we could hope for our club. The human condition is always to criticise and think they could do better. Look at the world we live in at any moment!
At the Lane, for me, I am comfortable in the belief that we have the best football manager for the job, I'm happy with that, win or loose.
There are many that aren't.

Genuine question, put the results aside and focus on the way we've played all season.

If he's the best manager for us then why can't he get any consistency out of this squad of players?
Why are they so disjointed?
Why are the performances so lacklustre and underwhelming?
If it's not Wilder then does that mean the players are ignoring his instructions or don't understand what he's asking them to do?
Do you think no other manager could do any better with these players?

I'm not having a pop at you, you're entitled to your opinion, I'm just curious what your answers would be.

Take a breath you were fading towards the end ;) 🤣

I understand what you are saying and don't agree or disagree, I'm just okay with our lot, I'm happy with that but understand that others aren't. I think CW is a good manager and that there are other good managers out there who may do a job that some supporters would be more satisfied with. I am happy just watching the Blades and looking forward to the next game. That's all.

It's funny how people often bring up Weir and Adkins, but Adams rarely gets spoken of. One of the worst United managers ever. Picking Nosworthy, THE worst player I've ever seen in a Blades shirt every match. Unbelievable.

Adams did pick Nosworthy to play but he wasn't alone in that.

So did Blackwell and Speed.

What other managers have had any reasonable success here ?
Most "outside" managers take the job, look around, everything looks okay, but then when trying to get them to play basic simple football they think "WTF have I done, please pay me off"

Hmm. Why would that be? What's O'Neill's selling point? Most things I've read are really negative.
Shooting his mouth off after matches aside, though often right, his managerial record is pretty good considering he was thrown in at the deep end with two struggling clubs. He has potential to be a very good manager. I thought he was a cracking player when he played for Redknapp at Portsmouth.

Absolutely not. Hamer, Souza, Campbell, Peck, Cooper, Amehodzic, Choudury, O’Hare and BBD for starters would walk into any starting XI in this league

Yep, I was conned. Just seen that you’re another troll just arrived to the forum. Have you really nothing better to do…..
