Southgate?
He's a bit of an unknown entity isn't he? Been out of management for a while - which is a worry.
Very unpopular with Boro fans - I believe.

Some folk ont' TV seem inspiring when they talk and you can imagine players running thru a brick wall for them. Whereas others.........

I would imagine a motivational team talk from GS is a little like being mauled by a dead sheep.......

But I'm probably being unfair to him.....

The fact is that Yeovil went up with a wage bill of a million pound . we failed last season with 10 times that
The choice of players is paramount. Wilson chose wisely in 10/11, and the mix of experience and youth blended well, in the last campaign the experienced players all seemed to age rapidly after christmas and reach the end of their careers one by one and the youngsters were left hanging without guidance.
Better to have used the Ironsides and McFazdeans earlier than bring in the loans we did which rather than add to the squad were of detriment as they never fitted in

Out of all those mentioned, Southgate is probably my favourite, based on the fact that he's young, has some top experience and comes across as quite progressive and positive. I think given time (which he won't be given), he could be a very good manager for United or whoever. If we're to invest time and money in a manager, I'd be happy for that man to be Southgate, but if he dares to lose a few games in a row, then I fear that sitting patiently and letting the manager/players sort it out just isn't in the plan.
