If they sell the stadium it could v easily be done on a discrete short term basis as another method of getting round FFP.
Sell it to another party who agrees to rent it back at a low price, chansiri agrees to pay the interest to,the third party on a private basis and agrees to buy the ground back at a fixed price at a later date.
Makes sense to me if I were in their shoes.

Thank god though, that I am a Blade

SWFC the club that just gives and gives.
Wonder if Chancer is selling up to invest in a prison, maybe Forestgump is his first signing?

\i would have thought that FFP rules would have allowed for someone trying something as obvious as selling the ground and then renting it back?

2.1 If there have been transactions between Related Parties during a Reporting Period, the Championship Club must disclose the nature of the relationship with the Related Party(ies), as well as information about those transactions and outstanding balances, including commitments, necessary for an understanding of the potential effect of the relationship on the Accounts.

2.2 If under FRS 8, the Championship Club is not required to disclose such transactions with Related Party(ies) within the notes to the Accounts, the transactions should be detailed in a separate schedule attached to the Fair Play Calculation as described in Appendix G Part 1.

Yes, but do you think Chancer has read that and understood it?

I believe that now there is a warrant out for his arrest, ANY member of the general public is allowed to make a citizens arrest and detain him until the police arrive. Just saying ;)

Presumably we can use ‘unreasonable force’ to rough him up quite a bit if he looks likely to struggle. Pretty sure I’ve got my facts straight on that.

Fernando Forestieri: Arrest warrant issued for Sheffield Wednesday striker

I believe from the Mansfield pre-season match.
Can our porcine neighbours year get any worse?

Hopefully.

The ground is in their accounts at around £25m (2017). If they sell for £30m, they have a profit of £5m. The rest is just cash flow.

Oh and btw, the figures are adjusted so that profits or losses on sales of tangible assets aren’t taken into account.

Wednesday have made the following statement:
"It has come to the club’s attention that court proceedings were conducted yesterday involving Fernando Forestieri.

We can confirm that neither the club, Forestieri nor his legal team were aware of this court date and thus the arrest warrant for his failure to attend court will not now be pursued and a new court date is to be arranged.

The club will be making no further comment at this stage."
Do you really believe that none of the parties involved were aware of the court date? I would have thought the CEO would have been all over this ensuring that everything went smoothly. I have never been to court, but I simply cannot see that EVERYONE at the Wednesday end were unaware of the date.

Put in the drawer along with the safety certificate.

Not at all, Old Bill.

A person who is not a police officer has very limited powers of arrest. They are to be found in S24A of the Police and Criminal Evidence Act 1984.

a)anyone who is in the act of committing an indictable offence;

(b)anyone whom he has reasonable grounds for suspecting to be committing an indictable offence.

(2)Where an indictable offence has been committed, a person other than a constable may arrest without a warrant—

(a)anyone who is guilty of the offence;

(b)anyone whom he has reasonable grounds for suspecting to be guilty of it.

Arrest warrants are issued in certain circumstances on application to a Court, most notably for failing to surrender to the custody of the court as and when required. They can only be executed by police officers.

Can't believe those twats have got him out of this. Any normal punter would have been locked up
