The usual Wendy love-in tonight with the RS bloke (Statton?) totally endorsing Chansiri and their dodgy set of accounts.

Then we had a pig fan saying 'The Blades? Forged in Steel? What's that about? All the steel industry is around the north of Sheffield.'

And there's me thinking Parson Cross and Southey Green had the biggest drug and dole industry.

Owls all live in trees. Why don't they fuck off to Sherwood forest?

Somebody has properly ballsed up in the marketing department if that pig is correct

Just for the record, the East of Sheffield is the heart of steel, not that it matters. Probably when British Steel moved from Attercliffe and went to Stocksbridge the Barnsley south brigade felt an affinity with it being so close.

I was told he used to be a big poster on Owlstalk Staton before he joined Radio Sheffield.

I don’t listen to recordings of people throwing washing machines full of spanners down metal fire escapes because it’s fucking annoying. I apply the same reasoning to Football Heaven.

Yer mean there is some chump in Pitsmoor sound recording people throwing washing machines full of spanners down metal fire escapes?

Heard it all now.

It is quite reassuring in a perverse sort of way, probably listen once a month, although Ian the Blackpool/ Eckington Blade needs to put some intonation in his voice . Very monotone.

Genuinely rate Radio Shefffield as an exiled Blade. Don’t get the hate. Listen to A.N.Other across the UK and realise how lucky we are.

Couldn't agree more - my car is permanently tuned into RS

Mind you

I can't stand, and never listen to, Praise and Grumble

Quite cringy listening to that this evening, yeah the FFP rules maybe set up so that clubs with wealthy owners who can afford to spunk money up the Wall if they want are restricted, but if those are the rules then everyone has to play by them, and by the sounds of it the pigs have exploited every loophole in the book

agreed - I didn’t think anyone listened to it anymore

I generally don't any more but I put it on tonight for a change. What a load of dross! Some of these callers that seem to ring in every single night with fuck all to say just do my head in. Then some shit on a call about how if Rotherham should get to the play offs they should try and lose it cos they aren't ready took the biscuit and I had to turn it off.

Don't mind the presenters if I'm honest but it's always the same small set of callers with nowt to say time after time.

I actually don't mind the presenters, but the show does seem to revolve around the usual clique of Brian the Blade, Mark the 'Gleadless Valley' Owl, that Brian the Miller etc...rarely listen these days. Just the sound of Mark - "I'm not gonna talk about attendances but I will do anyway" - is enough to make me turn off.

There is the posh sounding bloke who sounds like some relation of McCabe. Think he is known as David the Blade, I think he makes decent and valid points the odd time I do give it a listen. I always remember Jason the Blade who spoke well and with great passion about United, always finishing his call screaming COYRAWW.

On a separate point, I'm from Parson Cross, never stopped me following the right side of the city though. People I know always question why I am a Blade (but dad was from Heeley, mum was from Gleadless) this may not have been the case in the past, but I would say there are now a good number of Blades at the North side of the City.

I think you mean Mark The Pitsmoor Armed Robber, yeah?

David is from Bolton and in my view, the most sensible and rational caller to the programme of any persuasion. I've never met him, but found out recently that we have a mutual friend.

Little Mesters - Master Cutlers - Forged in Steel - Sheffield Centre - Blades with an Edge.

Magic

Jason that used to call in was a decent caller and had a bit of character about him, but they allowed too many idiots to take over and whilst i listen to RS a lot, i don't listen to the Football heaven phone in any more as it is filled with idiots and the producers think that its what people want.

Personally i think that a local football phone in should not be dominated by the same regular callers, but it should be structured and it should allow for all the local sides to have focus. I don't just mean the top clubs in the region, but supporters from non league clubs, even sunday league and kids sides should be encouraged to contribute by structuring the show to focus on all aspects of local football.

When you've got an hour slot 6 days a week you're always going to struggle to fill the time with decent quality callers, so give a better structure!
