First United match on Cup Final Day?

(Except when we were in the Cup final of course!) The FA Cup final kicks off at 16:45 when we are still playing. I usually like watching the build up and the tradition of Abide With Me. For me the Final should be the climax to the football season.

I stopped watching the FA Cup final intently in the early 00s when it turned into a joke of a competition.

I expect they ruled out the possibility of us ever getting to the final lol! Forest were closer to it this year.

It was quite common in the pre war years. Our lowest home gate in the 20th Century, of just over 4,000, occurred when Wednesday were in the Cup final on the same day in 1935. It only became end of season post war I think.

For me the Final should be the climax to the football season.

The champions league final should always be the last game of the season for any professional men’s team in europe, eventhough they’re usually pretty bad.
