The current transfer activity could either be a trio of Brighton-esque gems or it could be like a modern day Neil Warnock approach to signing overseas players, judgement reserved!

Just to clarify, as I realize there is ambiguity in the original post, the 'It's a joke' part of the original was intended as an anaphoric reference to the entire preceding lines in that paragraph. It was not intended as an anaphoric reference to the 0-0 scoreline or performance.

I originally thought it would be clear simply from the tone of the preceding paragraphs, which can be paraphrased as, 'I love united regardless of what they do or how they happen to be performing'.

I added the 'it's a joke' line just to make it clear because there's always a chance you'll be taken the wrong way, though looking back, I can see that it actual made me look even more bed-wetting gammon if read the way it was not intended.

A smiley may have been better. Or not posting because you end up getting dragged into things while your dinner goes cold.
