The news of Illiman and the new signings coming in have certainly boosted morale (well with me anyway).
Do you think the same ?
I know nothing about the new signings, so we'll have to trust the recruitment team on this. I'd have been much happier if we'd have signed more established players, such as O'Brien.
Still plenty of time yet though, obviously if Illy signs that will be a huge boost.

Then Newcastle swoop in with a 20 mill bid before he signs , to replace Allan Saint-Maximin 🙁

On a serious matter Hecky’s just said in an interview there will be SOME more !!

illy was my biggest concern and not necessarily because I think he could keep us up,
but because watching him play for the blades is absolutely bloody magic.

I think with N’Diaye we have a chance of staying up. But most Blades, actually most fans these days have zero loyalty.

A series of poor matches for N’Diaye and many will be saying he’s crap, knew he would never make it at PL level

And slagging off the board for giving him such a massive contract when he’s totally untested at Premier League.

Not sure I agree. Most fans who are prone to mouthing off and moaning, yes. But most fans just read the threads at most and then go have dinner. The more loyal/optimistic can't be bothered to post anything in defense of whoever it is this week - insert Norwood/Berge/Egan/whoever - because they know that those prone to banging on and moaning will attempt to engage and challenge them to prove that Norwood/Berge/Egan/whoever is actually an asset and it's simply not worth engaging when your dinner is getting cold.

It's good that there are differing opinions. I really value the forum we are privileged to have here and quite enjoy the dingdongs between members (don't be childish!). But most fans are exceptionally loyal regardless of whether they gripe or clap. At the end of the day, we are not even loyal through choice. Even as many express disdain for VAR/money in the game/diving/whatever, by default nobody on here has been able to walk away.

I'd love to walk away for several very practical reasons, much more logical than any reason for staying, but no way it's happening.

0-0 at half time with Estoril is a disgrace. If we can't beat these with ease, what chance to we have against Man City? That's a joke. Don't care. Only disappointed I missed the first half because of work. How long until the second half kicks off?

That's exactly my feelings.
We can't really go over the top about these new signings because really they are unknowns especially given the levels they've just been playing at.
So fingers crossed.

N'Diaye new deal though would be best business of the summer for us.

Think you missed the irony Lane Ender. Will remember to add smiley in future.
Good point away from home.

Yeah, apparently he's just had a Tommy Doyle face tattoo on his upper left arm.

Read into that whatever you want 🤷

I still think we’ll go down, but we have some good players with potential hopefully more to come and Ndiaye signed up (fingers crossed) so we won’t lose him for nowt.

ish.
Better than before.

Need the next 3/4 players to be upgrades on the XI. Not sure we've signed any yet.

Midfield needs urgent attention.

He hasn’t signed yet…

L’equipe reporting just now that a deal for him isn’t dead and he might have another change of heart.

I’d hold off on the self congratulation until any deal is official - we’ve been let down often enough in the past to know nothing is guaranteed

My dear old dad will be spinning in his grave with all these bleeding foreigners. He went up the wall when we signed Scottish players (and his granddad was from Falkirk)

Good post. It’s good to have incomings, especially considering we are not looking at ready made, starters of EPL quality.
These youngster represent value for money potential, and they have been vetted for good character by management.
Some might be ready now, but all have decent potential for the price. Wait and see.

The prospect of Ndiaye signing a contract is a very mouth watering prospect for all concerned.

Well done PH and the team behind him.

Probably have to wait until the big clubs decide which starlets are available for loans, when they are obliged to name a squad.
Of course the same applies to our youngsters wanted by lower league clubs. PH will not let anyone important out on loan until he gets those late EPL or foreign loans tied down. Always a last minute job, but I’m sure PH has a cunning plan, with back ups if needed. 😊

Certainly would expect the domestic loans to land in the last week of the window.
PH or the Prince mentioned previously that they think that's where the best value is to be found.

Two good things mentioned in PHs interview last night re transfers. He mentioned that they were 'busy' behind the scenes (although nothing close atm), and he wants 'as many as possible' and wouldn't put a number on it. Good to see that he is clear in his own mind that we still need a lot more quality and reinforcements. If we get the last few players right then it gives us a fighting chance next season. That's all we can ask.

More optimistic about next season? Not at this moment, illy signing would change that.

More optimistic about the future in general? Definitely, I believe a lot of these signings will benefit for years to come be that they develop into good players for us or we can sell them at profit.

Like others have said if we use our last remaining loan slots wisely we have a fighting chance of staying up. I like what we are doing, it may not bear immediate reward but I think long term it's sensible.

You're confusing loyalty with not posting on social media
