Through luck more than judgment, you have stumbled upon a Manager who has galvanised the club and in doing so has;

1. Cleaned up the shitshow mess left behind from the previous 2 regimes.
2. Refocused & motivated a bunch of driftwood who had looked bereft.
3. Showed bravery to trust and develop youth players.
4. Demonstrated he has the players 'on side' to achieve performances and results.

If you want us to get promoted or make us a more saleable asset then H, J & SMc must be given modest, financial support.

An adequate training facility & coaching/sports science personnel would be a good start. Then you might consider a transfer budget to either keep the current crown jewels (namely Egan, Berge & Ndiaye if they wanted to stay) and some investment to bring in players (by my guess, Didz, Mousse & Freeman should mean we're already about 50k a week better off) as there is currently a massive opportunity to bring in high quality, out of contract players.

Despite the disappointment of last night, we are still in an enviable position to have a good go next year so the options are simple ; sell us now or spend a bit to make a lot.

While I agree with most of that, you’re wrong about stumbled upon.

The Prince didn’t want Slav, he wanted Hecky, they all did but bowed to fan pressure.

I wonder how it would have all ended if they’d have had the courage of their convictions.

Did they want Hecky before or after spending weeks chasing a manager who was never going to get a work permit?

The stumbling which has gone on at the club this season:
Appointing Slav
Sacking Slav
Appointing Hecky
Selling Rammers after he forced a move away by refusing to play
Signing MGW on loan
Recalling Jebbo
Giving Ndiaye a new contract
Signing Olsen
Getting rid of Olsen
The training ground
Signing Hourihane
Giving new contracts to Billy, Bash, Ozzy and Robbo.
Releasing Mousse on loan
Releasing Mousse and Stepover Freeman
Keeping Berge
Getting into the Russian market as soon as players became available.

There are positives and negatives amongst that, some were positive when they happened but became negatives.

What’s clear to me is that despite making mistakes, we’ve not been afraid to rectify those mistakes and make changes needed.

A one off would be a stumble, but I think credit where it’s due, there’s been some unpopular and odd decisions made, but at times it seems that we’ve pulled it around…

Or hadn't taken any notice of the criticism of the "cheap option yes-man" voiced by so many of our fans?

From my professional qualifications and masters courses there's a management theory called 'freewheeling opportunism'. It sums up the way SUFC is managed to a tee! Sometimes it looks like 'Freewheeling in opportunism'!

Before wasn't it? I thought they wanted to give it him permanently at the end of last season but he said he didn't want it.

Perhaps I need to clarify the "luck" part of my statement; We were lucky to have Hecky in the coaching setup at the time of Wilder & Slav moving on. I don't believe that Heck was particularly chosen when Slav was given the sack, the cost effectiveness was the overriding factor imo, which should've been applied at the end of the 2020/2021 season so we had a full pre-season which ended up being a rushed shitshow in terms of preparation and recruitment.

However I don't subscribe to the "Prince appeased the fans with Slav" comments because it was an appointment kept under wraps for a protracted amount of time. Also, it's not like the Prince and/or Board asked the fans "who do you want?" is it? Even if there was fan pressure, they succumbed to it which amounts to weak leadership.

yeah it does seem that way...

The shambles of a pre season can probably be added to the list.

Has mousse been released? I thought they'd taken up the extra 12 month on his contract!

Really ? There is no evidence of fan power being at work.

To all 3 of you, you'd better be on the phone to the Manager giving him his budget and authorising new targets. Its the least you can do after being invisible for most of the season.

No comment from the Prince on Twitter, not even about Sharp.

If the 49ers had been playing however.....
