Debated for a while whether or not to bring this up but oh well I'm going to it needs to be said. I understand people finding some of the things at the lane frustrating but constantly moaning about it will not help it just annoys myself and some of the other fans I sit with in mop when people are constantly moaning even when we are winning. Moaning is not going to help the team its just annoying everyone not gonna have a go at people for it if they wanna moan then they can moan but I'm sure I'm not the only one on here who hates our fans moaning we should be getting behind the team a lot more singing songs to the opposite fans n cheering for the team I know people R sick of being in league one but moaning is only gonna make it worse for us lets get behind the team properly n spur them on for promotion instead of moaning when they make a bad pass or pass it back to defence n keeper COYRAWW

Get your tin hat on
bein a true fan mate gotta get behind the team or wats the point of supporting them I've seen better days of us but that's the past the now is more important

The first thing i remember to do when i wake up in the morning is to recite the phrase #UnitedTogether 10 times over and then i stand in the mirror in my Sheffield United underpants and do a little clap, before going downstairs, putting the kettle on and then pray to the Lord to thank him for Kevin McCabe, Prince Abdullah Mosaad Abdulaziz Al-Saud and Jim Phipps being able deliver a quality, competitive side featuring well known international global galatico superstars such as Collo and Jay McEverly and than we can grace the same Division as Walsall, Gillingham and Burton Albion.

That is how you get behind the team,

#UnitedTogether

I make a decision on the day whether I'm going to blindly whoop and cheer or whether I'm going to throw rotten vegetables
Lol Il admit that is slightly but what is the moaning at games gonna do for us its not gonna help us win matches mate U see where I'm coming from

I do, there's a bloke down in front of me that only comes to berate the ref. Thing is, it's a cliche but people pay their hard earned money and expect better. Adkins spends a lot of the game having a go at players.

I used to watch the steelers as a teenager and it was quite refreshing that they seemed to generate a positive atmosphere regardless of how the team played. Whilst refreshing, it wasn't for me.

The thing with the moaning is that it's a reaction and a reflection on how the team are performing at that time.

The sad thing is that because of the way things are at the moment, it doesn't take much for the atmosphere to become negative. It's a lot of pressure on the players, but it should also spur them on work on things.

That's why it's disappointing to hear Adkins complain about the professionalism of players like Che ( in the past) and Diego.

12000 (I think that's the figure) fans bought season tickets in the summer, many expected high effort levels as a minimum, some even expected technical ability as well. Is it wrong to moan when we don't get what we expect

Yeah, but do you think booing and shouting at the referee will make him referee any better?

Do you know where I'm coming from?

As (I think) Ricky summed up quite brilliantly the other week, moaning at the players is one of the best bits of the match. If you were to tell people off for doing it, you'd have to go round a hell of a lot of people because I don't know many that don't. It's stress relieving. It is one thing I'll miss whilst boycotting the rest of this season.

Maybe but it doesn't help the players I can understand people moaning at games we lose but its when were winning people still moan at Rochdale wen we were winning 2-1 bout 10 mins before they equalised all I could hear was people moaning still even though their keeper had just saved a good shot off of one of our players I think it was done but might have been someone else

Good for you mate. Correct me if I'm wrong but I'm guessing by your moniker that you're about 20 years old? You see, what you get mostly on here are over 40 something saddo's like me who might remember the good old days when the likes of TC and Woody graced the hallowed turf and they all find it very depressing at the current state of affairs, so therefore feel the need to have a good old moan. You're quite right, it does nothing to help the current crop of mediocre squad players. I myself try not to moan too much but I do get quite agitated when one of our well paid players can't pass a ball 5 yards to another one of our players or when we have an attacking free kick and 3 passes later it ends up with our keeper kicking under pressure.

Keep up the good work and I hope by the time you reach your 40's, the Blades are in a much better place.

Just not gonna happen, mate. There's generally a horribly depressed mood about the place which manifests itself more in glum silence & suppressed moaning, rather than outright hostility.

Success will breed good cheer, simple as. Until then, we're stuck with a dark cloud over the place. Five years wallowing in Division 3's bound to have an effect.

It has been a story of the last few years, we can't close games out...

Yeah I do, I rarely get irate with refs. I get irate with our players for then surrounding the ref when they should be focussed on the game

Another flounce? Well fuck me, I thought news of the day was the death of Jihadi John. Shows what I know.

Moaning at matches has always been prevalent and always will be. People have different views on music, fashion so why should it be different in football. It may come as shock, but not every supporter buys into "modern football" possession mind numbing football that is the fad at the minute. As fans didn't buy into hoof ball under HB, NW it's all about opinion and long may it continue.

Thing is, just how often can anyone threaten to leave or boycott without actually following through?

I suppose it has entertainment value of a cynical kind to begin with, but after a while, when the same hollow, empty words repeat the same message, I'd have thought we have a right to expect an actual delivery on the promised departure?
I've attempted to consider what might lie behind this - some type of obscure record for the number of times a threat can be made without doing as promised? But to return to this same old message, one that is tired beyond belief, as often as has been seen on this forum over the weeks, gotta say, you'd think the poster would either shut up or put up.

What an odd thing to bet on JT, have you got some kinda "Dead Pool" game going on?

No dead pool presently, although I did win one a few years back by getting Gary Coleman of Diffrent Strokes fame, I was referring to the more well known Phil Taylor

Problem is Alco is doing his nut in, he doesn't know whether to start a party or hang himself :)

As Barny has banned me from referring to his previous flounce.

As Barny has banned me from referring to his previous flounce.

You've been banned by another poster!?!?!? Show some backbone man, Dunkirk spirit and all that ;).....and from the above post it would seem that Barny does pay attention even when he's advising treatment for others (now that is funny!)

Given the trustworthy and reliable content of your posts HB, perhaps you could tell me if we're post-flounce, post-flounce flounce, or way beyond those departure noises, in short, a bit like a train that goes woo woo yet never seems to leave the platform.

Not only have I lost count of the number of threatened exits, whatever drama there was to create a literary frisson it's now been reduced to a withering dick of a post. Only on a United forum!
