Can a group of people in one place be “literal”?It literally will be 25k
Not when we went to Elland Road (until they had scored) and very quiet at the Lane until they scored.and yet Leeds fans are bellowing songs all game and create an atmosphere,
I think it actually is at the moment. Historically there have been times when the game has evolved into something a bit dull. That was a major reason that 3 points for a win was introduced.Boring football must be endemic in England![]()
It doesn't mate. It makes you a sensible parent. I live 100s of miles away and over past ten years or so the rise in train fares (i dont drive, dont want to) and now ticket prices limits me to just a handful of games per year. Away games are usually more affordable when they are closer to me than Sheffield is. Spending 200 quid for 90 mins of action is mindboggling, particularly as I am from an era when you paid on the gate and it was less than a tenner.I take my daughter and I can rarely afford to go. Sorry if that makes me less of a blade.
There has always been boring games and ones that are more exciting. I think people are so used to instant gratification these days that if there isn't a shot on goal for 10 mins they switch off.I think it actually is at the moment. Go and support fucking Leeds thenWe have a good club, great infrastructure, good manager and a team that isn't that great but because they're well managed have won more than most clubs in England
Yet our fans are the worst for a side chasing promotion in any league anywhere, atmosphere like a morgue, fans that fuckoff 10 mins before half time or leave 5 mins early and yet Leeds fans are bellowing songs all game and create an atmosphere, as per Burnley.
Truly bizarre state of affairs that more turned up to see us get walloped last year than today.
Should charge 30, happy medium. If tickets were 30 rather than 40 for games such as PNE on a Saturday I think we would see a big increase in attendance.25,000 @ £40 = £1m income
30,000 @ £20 = £600k income
The club don’t make any more money on beer / pies etc as they are franchised so the club already have its fixed income for this.
Can’t really blame the club on this if we want to be challenging for promotion.
Lower prices if you want to be like Preston and Bristol City every season.
Having a Season Ticket, I don't usually notice the Category of our home games but making yesterday a Cat A game is mindboggling. The club made a mistake making this category A and that’s why the Preston numbers were lower then normal.
Some of their fans boycotted this fixture.
Tickets were £36 + £1 booking fee = £37 on the Kop and £41 + £1 = £42.00 in the other stands.
Who’s going to pay £42 to watch us play Preston?
To a degree, yes. Nothing whatsoever to do with the Blades, but I think the excitement levels in the game have dipped generally in recent years. Partly down to the tactics that are currently in fashion, partly down to promotion to the PL having become such a poisoned chalice. There has always been boring games and ones that are more exciting. And maybe partly that some are worried about feeding themselves after spending shitloads on watching a game of football?!To a degree, yes. Pep is to blame. Everyone tries to play like Manchester City and frankly up until this season they’re tedious to watch. They’re only more fun this year because they’re getting beatenTo a degree, yes. Yes, definitely. I know a few people in that situation, it doesn’t make them a lesser Blade. Anyone who prioritises going to a match over much more important things is stupid in my opinion. And maybe partly that some are worried about feeding themselves after spending shitloads on watching a game of football?!
Can’t have just been £?

I fear you may well need to stand corrected . Looking at the ticket sales , they are way behind the £20 Coventry offer for the end of the month . It appears Bristol City have sold just over 500 tickets ( 485 remain from a 1009 allocation ) .Of our league games so far this season we’ve had 3 games below 27k. I can see this one, at home with 10 games left and 2nd in the league, breaking 27k. Bristol will bring 1k as they’re a well supported club away from home. We only need 2k or 3k floaters and we’re there.
If we don’t I stand corrected but I don’t see us dropping to 25k again this season.
Some fans just disappear at half time and don’t return. Whether we are winning or not by half time.
Is there a black hole in the toilets or something?
Although the pricing for the Preston match was poor from the club.
Blades finding out their missus played away at the turnstile would be good viral content too.I do feel for families of Blades though and perhaps more could be done with group tickets at home games - on production of DNA evidence of course!

I guess it’s the Northern mateI have it on good account that if you enter the kop bogs run full tilt then throw yourself at the wall that you end up in an exclusive bar or maybe it's the Northern General I can't remember which...
Must be me, I don’t think 27k against Preston is too bad at all.
But then I enjoyed watching us yesterday and thought we were good value so it probably is just me.
There was a time when teams had a style/way of playing so you'd get a different challenge every week. Nowadays, most teams tend to play the same or similar way. You get a crazy team playing out from the back (Swansea), you get lumpers (Luton) but most other seem to just try and keep it tight and get something on the break. Games become less memorable and much of a muchness. To a degree, yes. Nothing whatsoever to do with the Blades, but I think the excitement levels in the game have dipped generally in recent years.
