In less than a week mccabe has gone down and down and PA has shot up, less than a week! PA has come across very well and wish him all the luck in the world and as with any new beginning it feels exciting and we have a lot of good will flying around, as we should.

However, will he survive if and when things take a wobble, Chris would survive as has Mcabe for obvious reasons but how many will be ready to attack him, he deserves our support now and given a chance in the future, he and his family on the board are also one of own now.

Remember though there's no bigger blade than Kevin McCabe
In fairness, if his legal team thought he was in serious danger of losing the case why would he want to risk more money?

The Premier League money wasn't in the bank at that stage so he would probably have had to inject funds to support the cash flow.

I wouldn't risk millions I may never get back in that situation either.

How many of the people believing every word of the Prince also believe that we will soon have £150m a week for the NHS?

Some people are so gullible.

Take nothing at face value is my motto

"he didn't want to sign McBurnie after his medical so I had to guarantee it with my own funds. "

I've clearly missed something here?!

When I read that I was alarmed that “after his medical” meant “due to his medical” – ie something in his medical meant we might pull out. Having listened to the audio that’s clearly not what was meant. More that they’d agreed they were going to sign him, he had his medical, then McCabe suddenly got cold feet about the money involved so PA had to step in – and said it would have been embarrassing for us to have progressed the deal to that stage only to pull out last minute. He suggested there was something similar re: Mousset’s deal.

So essentially, about £28m of the roughly £44m of investment in the first team this summer might not have happened had McCabe had his way.

I was a McCaber before this week and was gutted when I heard the judgement.

But kev has scored a series of own goals and PA hasn’t really put a foot wrong.

I have been really impressed with what PA has had to say and I am certainly willing to give him my full support unless and until he gives demonstrable reasons not to.

I generally believe the former, and entirely disbelieve the latter. What now?

I don't think there's anything overly contentious or fantastical about what HRH said. Seems common sense and on the balance of prior evidence, quite probable.

Time will tell.

I'm not saying that the Prince isn't being straight, I'm saying I'll believe it when I see it.

The jury remains out.

Anyone can say the right things but very few can ultimately back those words up with actions/achievements and until the Prince does he is simply playing a good PR game.

The belief was that we had a £20m transfer budget. Mousset and McBurnie took that to around £45m. His action has already backed up his words. I'm a believer!

Artist impression. Approaching BDTBL from city centre direction.

Just a couple of anomalies demanded by local council, backed by local MP.

That's how I read it.

As PA says "talk is cheap". Action will always speak louder than words. PA has proved with the transfer quote. We all know KM would rather build something built and billed by his other company instead.

Only two uncomfortable mo He later added the way to bring money into the Club is through Sponsors and there were many in his homeland who were interested.

Previously said it, if Saudi money takes us on the route it took Williams F1 then bring it on.

One thing that did strike a chord with me on the Judge's ruling was that McCabe would create his own reality to fit his mindset. I genuinely think he believes we're all up in arms over this ruling & will be calling for his return. I think the actual reality is that most people just feel a bit indifferent about his exit.

Was saying the same to mates last night. The more I see of McCabe the more I think he is completely delusional.

Because he’s surrounded by
a) acolytes
b) people who say yes to him due to his force of personality.

As mentioned in other threads, we are literally operating in a different league than McCabe is used to now. It’s ok playing the big man at the Sheffield Chamber of Commerce but the PL investment required and the organisations we’re up against now is a totally different proposition than in 2006.

I’d it were up to Kev we’d probably sign Jason Puncheon and put a half-arsed bid in for Tom Ince.

Without checking, I'm sure that every club that is taken over is accompanied by similar noises from the new owner. Claims by the new owner that he and his family will "just be custodians" of a club that ultimately belongs to the fans. Claims that traditions will be respected, no boardroom input into signings or team selection, promises to upgrade facilities etc etc. The Venkeys, the Oystons, as well as the "good owners" whose teams have remained in the PL and can't really lose money as a result, will all have said similar stuff.

Any new owner will give similar reassurances to the fans. I would have been amazed if the Prince didn't come out with anything different,

We see being "one of our own" as a massive virtue when it comes to our team's management and captaincy. But the fact is that now our Chairman is a 26 year old Saudi Arabian, HRH Prince Musa’ad Bin Khalid Bin Abdulrahman Al Saud. His young wife Latifa will also have a seat on the board. I would be surprised if they knew more about the history, customs and traditions of the Blades than our previous owner. Will other boardroom members be permitted to drink alcohol when he is around? Will the female hospitality staff be allowed to serve him?

McCabe was and still is "one of our own" - perhaps more so than Wilder or Sharp as he has never been employed by another club. He was born on Shoreham St, grew up in Sheffield, and was a fan long before entering the boardroom. For all his faults there's no doubt that Kev knows what it means to be a Blade more than the young Prince Misa'ad.

Of course, we all want the new regime to be a success. We all want to beleive. And if we don't get relegated or get into huge debt, it will be. It will be a very exciting time. But if we get relegated, or heavan forbid drop down to League One, is the Prince more likely than McCabe to mortgage his assets to save the club from administration? Would the Prince put 100 million quid of his own money into the club over time to keep it afloat, then write off the debt? That's the kind of chairman we need - one who will stick with us through the lean times as well as the good ones.

McCabe is a typical Sheffield self-made businessman. Cautious with money, a bit of a control freak, preferring to trust his instinct over the advice of accountants. There are probably a few like him who post on here. He's flawed, but he would never allow United to go under.

Given the choice, I would have preferred to see McCabe retain control, but will give the Prince a chance. He seems like a decent bloke. But it will take more than nice words to convince me that he will stick by the club through thick and thin. And my gut feeling is that the Sunni-Wahhabi ideology is a poor fit with the values of the club. What helps are the positive comments from Jim Phipps, who is clearly an honest bloke (and also has religious beliefs that are a little alien to us).

As fans, we should be welcoming to the Prince but not fawning. All major decisions taken by a Prince-controlled board should be scruitonized closely. He shouldn't be given a free hand. People are queuing up to slag off McCabe now, but he got a lot right during his tenure - not lease ticket prices, and communication - regular meetings with fans, supporters clubs and shareholders, making himself available to chat to fans in the Copthorne after games, even on trains to away games. We may yet come to regret his departure.

As far as the Prince goes, we are talking about a guy who doesn't want to be personally involved in the day to day running of the club, and chooses to spend his free time on the west coast of USA. Having placed his son and daughter in law in a western society, in a responsible position of considerable importance, I don't see the extreme Muslim ethos raising it's head in South Yorkshire. Certainly nepotism, but hopefully for the right reasons.
I am prepared to accept the family and let them have a fair crack of the whip, provided PA sticks to his promise to run the club in line with modern business practice, alongside an attractive style that so many now enjoy.
By taking over and putting family in the hot seat, he has opened himself up to fans scrutiny. I'm sure he realises the implications of this, especially given his personal preference not to be in the limelight.
Wait and see.

One of the most telling comments last night was when PA was talking about the McBurnie and Mousset transfers. He said that it was him who sanctioned the transfers even though he knew the case could go against him and there was no way he would get the money back.

I looked at Steve Bettis and Chris Wilder and they both looked non plussed. I am quite sure if this wasn’t true it would have been pulled up.

There was a gentleman in there who was allowed to make more of a statement than a question he did this on 2 separate occasions and also tried to get up to the front table as well! He was very scathing of the prince and had these statements typed up! Not sure what I made of it but the prince told him twice to look at the court judgement.

I thought he cane across very well and like he said to one question come to me me in 2,3, 4 years and if I haven’t done a good job tell me.

Quite simply it’s a poor fit with anything liberal and secular, and probably with mainstream Islam too. But a bloke in a hoodie who obsesses over sport and wants his daughter involved in a woman’s football team... It’s hardly the stuff of religious fundamentalism.

We can’t infer his views and intentions entirely from his Saudi heritage or family. If we judge him by his actions so far, and do so in future, that’s ok with me. If we get to stage where we’re somehow becoming tied to the Saudi regime rather than him individually, I’ll start to worry. But as it stands he’s just a sports geek with a few quid.

Judging him by his actions means just that.

Some pretty balanced views there. But the fact is we are in the prem and not league 1and it is the actions of PA not KM that have avoided trying to cash in short term and invest to stay there. As he says it would be in his financial interest to sell out now as KM planned but has chosen to follow his prem league passion. The days of KM putting his hand in his pocket are long gone and PA has said judge me by my actions not words. Time to get behind the Prince and for Kevin to leave gracefully.

Moving his daughter and son in law to Sheffield is quite a demonstration of intent. An action speaking louder than words.

We will see.

Providing his daughter and son in law agreed to it and are happy with it 😉
