Absolutely balmy! How could anybody be offended and if they were of a type that’s easily upset, what on earth were they doing listening to a lower league football commentary from deepest Lincolnshire?

humorous A confrontation that does not lead to serious fighting, especially among soccer players.

‘The Real World Consultant, who ended up as referee, told us by email that it was serious, handbags at dawn, stuff.’

Not sure who the 'handbags' comment would offend other than the players and it was always (imo) a comment to try and diffuse or belittle a situation.

He is one of the nicest men in football, this will hit him hard. Makes you want to stop paying your license fee.
I don't want to pay mine as I wasn't obliged too for a couple of years but now I must and there is no way out of paying.
Twenty years ago I got shut of the t/v and after a visit by an official was allowed not to pay.
Now because I have a computer, to help run household finances and purchases plus S2 4SU, and BBC put material on the tinternet, I must pay the licence fee. PIRACY no other word for it.
Having said what I have, would be churlish not to offer an alternative.
I am a big believer in having a National Radio Station, therefore the BBC should pick one station, either Radio or t/v to be the mouthpiece for the government in times of national crisis. BBC News Channel would be ideal.
All the other BBC stations should go commercial and be self financing whilst also financing the one channel that is The National Station.
Commenting on the OP.
Hitler was burning books eighty odd years ago, the, to me, faceless people who perpetuate this are just as bad.
So long as there is no bad language and acute personal abuse, I believe, you can say what you want to anybody.
If you don't like it, reply in like or decease in the conversation, simple really but good to have skin like a Rhino.
Rant over now for WBA.

Depends on the BBC material you mean. If you aren't watching it you don't need one just because it's on there.

On https://www.tvlicensing.co.uk/check-if-you-need-one it says:

"The law says you need to be covered by a TV Licence to:
  • watch or record programmes as they’re being shown on TV, on any channel
  • watch or stream programmes live on an online TV service (such as ITV Hub, All 4, YouTube, Amazon Prime Video, Now TV, Sky Go, etc.)
  • download or watch any BBC programmes on iPlayer.

I stopped mine agers ago. Don't watch TV live etc. I don't know when it changed but had to have a TV licence to play my ZX Spectrum games on the TV, I withdrew my support around the time of the CE farce where they were doing specials on Football Heaven about it. Fuck 'em.

Careful people. You'll be accused of frothing.

People on live broadcasts must be wary of saying something completely innocuous to the vast majority of society but that it will get them in hot water.

Fucks me right off having to pay towards the wages of that (xxxxxxxx (censored myself)) Jo Brand and fellow BBC "worker" - "sorry for myself" blubber Vanessa Feltz, amongst others.
I do like a lot of the BBC though and don't mind paying a reasonable fee to keep adverts away, but the wages for some no marks is way way over.

Pathetic shit crap rubbish again.
Find out who complained and give em some Pampers.

Find out who complained and fucking shoot them straight between the eyes.

This will achieve two goals

1) It'll put the sad act who complained out of his/her misery

2) The worlds resources are in short supply due to overpopulation, and sad twats like this shouldn't have the right to use them

It don't read like that to me on the official letter.
It seems as it's for the viewer to prove they don't use the facility. Thanks for the info

Slightly off tangent but, the babies now, will not be able to communicate and socialise when they are older for fear of offending someone or something.

Just to clarify, Thompson has been sacked because he used the word handbags to explain some fisty cuffs on the pitch? or something?

Isn’t that sexist?
