It's first time in a few years that all promoted sides have gone down, either the difference in quality is getting bigger or it might just be that the 3 that went up were shit, I think the latter
Think only time it's happened before is 1998 when Barnsley, Palace and Bolton all went down having being promoted in 97.

Got to say. If this is the best league in the world I'd hate to have to watch through 90 minutes of the worst.
Just about the most boring end of seasonal testimonial I've seen. Surely!
Even the officials seemed to be going through the motions - and no that's not a reference to how shit they were (as well).

If it's not the best league in the world, that makes us quite an awful lot worse then people are saying, surely?

For all the knocking of Trusty, Brooks, Slimane, Souza etc the whole team is out of its depth in this league. Maybe Hamer is the exception. Maybe a season in the Championship is what these players need to reset and show they are better players than most on here realize. With a huge drop in quality opposition these players will look night and day on this season
I like your optimism, but I don’t share it. The U21 look good but their league is poor. A complete rebuild needed. This will take a few years.

We do, we won't, we're stuck with some of those on contracts, should be a " fun" summer. Buckle up

We are an embarrassment. Worse season in my living memory.

Next season will test the gulf in the two leagues theory. If Ipswich, Leicester and whoever struggle, then the Premier League has a major future problem on their hands. One which they will not address.
Reduce the league to 18 teams seems to make sense…..

Also think the latter, the points deductions made it seem tighter for a while..

On the plus side, that result keeps having a nice goal difference in play, only need to lose to Spurs by three for that to come home

Not sure if it’s time for celebration after that performance I mean fair enough hope they are having a good night

We have to change the manager; nothing much has changed all season ; I'm getting a little tired seeing us losing like this . After 72 years
this is the worst team and manager I can remember. Roll on next Sunday when all this will be over. And I think we will struggle in the championship next season.

Whilst this season has been tough etc etc none can be laid at Wilders door, what can he do, so many out injured, new players brought in during the summer shocking levels of recruitment, selling our two top players( under debate I appreciate) that must have smashed any expectations from the players left and deflated the whole squad, judge him next season when he’s brought in lots of his own players dumped the deadwood that should have gone 2 seasons ago and then see if we progress.

Can’t make spuds game Sunday as I’m abroad so this was my last game . Thank Fuck it’s over . On a positive note was looking forward to this . Perfect weather , few beers near Lime St before jumping on a train to Sandhills . Met a few great Everton boys on the train and joined them in the Albany boozer for loads of banter . Love that no issue of home / away fans mixing in boozers near ground and in their fan park . Took some nostalgic pictures of the ancient stand and seats never to be visited again sadly . Great to be sat near Billy Sharp and his boy. Really miss him about the place . Massive praise for blades fans . Best support by miles 😍 . Hope we can support the boys the same in August!

Preston away ole ole ⚔️⚔️⚔️

I'm 70, and it's the worst team I've witnessed at this level, but we've had some right shit further down the leagues, sadly mate this owner ain't going to change the manager, it appeases the fans, keeps them off his back, plus the fact he can't afford anybody what will come in and turn the squad upside down. I'm with you on next season and think we're on the spiral downwards, hope to fck I'm wrong! Just hope the so called owner sells up but I'm not holding my breath on that one. 🤞for next season.

Did u not go when Adkins was in charge, or Adrian Heath, or David Weir❓

You must be young then 1066 Blade 😊 . I was there when we missed a penalty to drop into the 4th Div. A little bit worse I think , and very embarrassing, imagine facing the pigs after that !!. . But I know what you mean just the same . :(.
I am old enough (unfortunately) to remember that. I think old age and selective memory combines to eradicate it from my chosen thought process.
It just fukin hurts, after 60 years a blade, i hope, one day, we will achieve something worthwhile.

Comparing a team relegated from prem to a team relegated to the 4th!
No comparison really ! as the one from eighties is obviously the worst in our history.
We had a refit the following season and walked promotion! we hit our usual wall the following season with momentum gradually lost due to lack of money.
Bearley did put money in but! as soon as the pigs run City Council refused planning permission for the BRAMALL LANE,CENTRE he lost interest and we dillied between 3rd division ( as the divisions were then no championship)and 2nd division for a while.
We did get. Going again thanks to D Bassett! Just the years leading up to Dave were dire with low crowds.
We did keep our core of fans though with a number of those posting on here.

Of course some can be laid at his door.He gets paid an absolute fortune to motivate and improve them players both tactically and individually.Yes pre season was a shit show but he shouldn’t have taken the job if he didn’t think anything could be improved.

Can’t see how CW gets such a free pass off some. Yes it’s not all his fault of course. But any other manager wouldn’t have been cut so much slack.
Might be something to do with the fact he recently took us from the abyss of League 1 to 9th in the Premier League❓⚔️
