Was that the game in 83/84 when Edwards scored that vital last minute goal? I was only 11. We weren't sat in the away end but on the side. I remember loads of fighting in the ground and it was carnage outside. We had the back window put in on the Fiat 126 we were in and had to drive back all the way to Sheffield.
Did anyone else in here get ambushed in the ground at Burnden park ,in the stand to the right of the big open end we were allocated. One of the most violent fights I can remember ,some proper big lads on both sides ,blood snot and other bodily fluids everywhere mingled in with contents of a fire extinguisher which helped it all come to an end and I don't think the thousands of Blades on the away end were aware.. Bolton and Stoke were the roughest places I think ,Farnsworth ,Chester-Le-Street and Knottingley should always be avoided for a night out with the lads.
