Yes, it was by South Yorkshire police on BP forecourt.....i made a complaint to the ipcc but my solicitor said that the cctv had vanished. ! Amazing that

Bradford City away in October 81. We got there early and saw a load of Dinno Blades setting off to the city centre looking for some action. Youthful exuberance caused us to follow them as we knew a few from school. Then me a mate decided it might not be such a great idea so we broke away - big mistake! I got absolutely lamped and had a massive swelling black eye as I stood on the open end with half a good eye on the game and the other half watching snooker balls fly back and forth. Of course the Dinno lads (mainly from the pit) were fine and chased a few hundred Bradford fans around for pre-match entertainment.

The following Tuesday (still with a massive swollen shiner), we went to Highbury in the car for the FL second leg. We marched back to Finsbury Park with over a 1000 train bound Blades and all the locals kept out of the way. The 5 of us went downstairs to catch a tube and we get jumped by a mob and kicked to the floor. Of course I got a few in the head again just to 'top up' the eye swelling. Our driver was a bit older and a lot harder and didn't get knocked to the floor. He just stood there smacking Arsenal yoof at his leisure and he had a great night out.

Finally plod arrived and the ultimate insult was a police dog biting one of us lot. Ironically, it was a lad who had an Alsatian at home!

We stopped at a services on the M1 and bumped into the Dinno coach. When some of the harder lads saw the state of us, they were serious about 'going back and finding the cockney wankers' but we'd had enough.

Since then had a few close scrapes at Leeds, Sunderland and amazingly Boston (FAC 85).

Ipswich of all places ... Last game of season think it was wen Kieran dyer played for them an they missed out on promotion ... Marcelo scored for blades (still lost ) ...

Stockport away in cup Nov 80? Got there early stood outside pub and turned around drowsy to see a big hairy fucker growling at me...wasn't until I got 100 yards up road that I realised I'd took a bit of a whack on back of head...4 stitches. Word was there was a gang of Citeh lads around...

Yeah, I got the shit kicked out of me after we played Peterborough at home a couple of seasons ago.

Basically I was supposed to meet my missus in town, but I forgot and fucked off to the match instead. She didn't take it too well. I copped for a beaut of a right hook to the face and a vodka and Red Bull to the shirt.

Birmingham last match 74-75

Too many to mention, single instances and long ago but at least then it was only ever fists n boots, scariest I think will always remember seeing a blade thrown through a plate glass window after a game at Stamford bridge, blood every where, luckily worse than it looked mostly superficial but looked horrendous.

Got kicked down the kop by Manure fans on Shoreham St in the 70's, got a knife pulled on me by Birmingham fans in the 70's and also chased through Pond St by a loadabarcodes until a mass of Blades fans caught them and gave 'em a right tousing!

Not quite a kicking but....

We'd played Barnsley at home (was about 15 in mid 90's - Brett Angel scored the only goal) and I was walking back to the car with my dad through the under pass at St Mary's church. Group of Barnsley fans walking the other way and they started chanting about how shit and lucky United were so I start shouting back (cocky little bastard I was) and as they walked past one of em spat in my face.

Obviously i lost the plot and started having a right go at the guy and my dad dragged me away telling me I'd taken it too far. Turns out he'd not seen him spit at me.

Anyway, my dad (who's not one for losing his cool), went fucking ape shit and even though there was a few of them (and my dad's no hardman) they legged it.

Got back to the car and started driving off, he then otted them walking down Shoreham Street towards the train station.

I'm thinking he's going to wind down the window and give em some abuse but he ends up deliberately mounting the kerb and nearly runs em over. Claims to this day he only ever meant to scare em but he was VERY close.

They absolutely shit themselves. Look on their faces was priceless.

Was the one and only time I've seen the old man lose it.

if you're an older Blade and was around 60s/70s you will have had your fair share - it used to be like the wild west

my worst days - winning at Newcastle boxing day 1971 stood in the Gallowgate end, crombies, doc martins and all that and Brum first away game of season 1973

another one from me knocked newcastle out of the cup early bassett days only 13000 there walking back to the car hundreds off them came out of the woods chased us back to the ground told coppers who said wait there then started wacking the bush es were loads more were hiding

Rovrum used to be awful, especially going down that lane at Millmoor they chucked anything & everything over that wall!!
As I lived that way anall it meant getting bus/train with that lot.....meh!
Got a few kickings there!!

After playing Stoke in the fa cup at the the lane about 1983, I got train back to chezzie and load of Stoke on it, got a couple of slaps.

Leicester at home when I was 13. (1967) Around same era home and away with Leeds. Deane and Agana era away at Barnsley when that twat the racist David Ellerey refereed and I had to rescue my mate Stuart from the Dingles because he had long hair and was wearing colours. Wolves in that stupid underpass when Gannon played for us. Not a real kicking but all a "ruck" where I was scared and got a bit hurt. I perhaps didn't think so at the time, but it was all a bit daft.
