Ive heard we have enquired about Danny Graham ,be well chuffed if that came off.

Can't see it being any more than just that (an enquiry) if it's true that we've even asked. Can't see that ever happening. Almost every team in the Championship would take him and possibly a couple in the Prem.

Just posted this on the wrong thread !! So I will repost it on the right one, apologies to anyone who reads it twice

I saw Doyler a few times for Hibs , he is fantastic. If we do sign him and play him as an out and out striker we've got a diamond. Pat Fenlon (Hibees manager at the time) totally wasted him !
He scored 25 goals for Sligo the season Hibs signed him, every one inside the 18 yard box.
Fenlon played him as a left winger!!

Interesting - he's had 28 minutes of football in the 6 weeks since he went back to Sunderland.

Having played 5 games on loan for Wolves, you would think he'd be interested in another Championship loan.

However, I'm sure he wants to play - we might be able to persuade him to come for a month ?

He's not cup tied, which might also attract him.

Has this ginger twat signed then or what?

I get the feeling he'll be a blade come the close of the JTW.

Paul Cook on FH tonight (aka The Wednesday Takeover Show) seemed to very much nudge ED in our direction. Dunno if it's on Audioboom but he said he had been to the Spurs match, very impressed, if ED goes to the Blades it will be a good move or words very much to that effect.

Hmm. Just found the Paul Cook interview from last night on Football Heaven (12m.48s.to 15m.31s.). Judge for yourself, but sounds like a 'come and get him' to me!

Transfer spoiler on twitter suggests that of the list of potential targets only Doyle and Bradshaw remain available to us now. Players are keen, but talks haven't advanced to them directly. Talks between clubs have become slow and it seems less likely that either will sign.

and this from Clough might suggest truth in that:

“We are making progress, but it’s slow. We have to be patient with them."

If Chesterfield are daft enough to let Eoin Doyle go then for the love of Jesus let's not allow Preston to nick him from under our noses! We don't want him playing for our likely play-off rivals, do we?

I wonder whether they are offering Kevin Davies in exchange after 18 years away.

He won't go to Preston.

Wasn't there some talk a while back that he would likely end up at Derby, if not then SUFC because he wanted to be within an hours drive of his family? That could be wrong, I don't know if he is married or not, just seem to remember that being said. It would rule out Preston if true,

All other things equal, you don't choose Preston in preference to Sheffield United!

ey up Pinch, I know what you mean, but I was out last saturday night in Preston, after the game (in a load of old school boozers, great beer), with some of their fans and they were saying they had money to burn, just bought a player from Aston Villa, etc. To be fair, if the choice was playing for Simon Grayson or Nigel Clough, I would like to think that would be a no brainer, and if any player thinks that long term, PNE is a better bet than SUFC then again, something is wrong.

They got a player on LOAN from Aston Villa - the lad that was at Oldham, Daniel Johnson and played really well against us.

Ah ok, cheers, it was a long night and we tried to fit in as many beers as we could, all in the name of research of course.

Only a club run by morons would let their best player go to a promotion chasing rival....

Precisely, mate. Preston wanted Paul Coutts, their former captain. They think the world of him, there. He's at The Lane!

Yes, after we played PNE at the Lane the other week, I was having a beer with a Preston fan and said we were after Coutts and he was nearly in tears, he was gutted!
