Sharp = Legend. But he was highly ineffective today, and Ndiaye did the extra running which cost him. 3-1 win is great. Need to see more of Jebbison give sharp 20 minutes against tired defending he causes havoc.

I think sharp quietly goes about doing the things which need to be done. Gets us up the pitch and wins freekicks. It's not fancy and it's not idea but I think against teams we should be beating having a solid and fairly reliable old hand to run the line is fine. As long as there's someone like Ndiaye next to him with the flair. I thought his cameo was mixed to be honest. Defenders used their experience against him and he lost the ball a fair few times. Nice backheel though

I hate to criticise the fella, because he's a legend of this club, but he is struggling. The less we see of him and the more we see of the younger lads, the more confident I'll be.

In fairness today, the balls forward were often hit and hope. Got a couple of free kicks and won a couple of throws to push us upfield. He's steady at the moment. Does a job. Doesn't really have a huge influence but occupies the defenders and is a nuisance while Ndiaye causes chaos. It works though. We scored two goals with him on the pitch and we're scoring goals whether he's heavily involved or not. He knows where to run, how to draw defenders away etc. I wish we had the ability to bring someone else in though.

I would say no one remembers too much how you get promoted, as long as you do, but, I'm sure some of our fans could dine out for the rest of their lives, on the misery they experienced in the 22/23 promotion season.... Stay strong, Blades

I try not to pay attention to to the majority of the hyperbole on here and you cannot fault the results and league position.
However performances haven’t been great for a while and we have got away with being average for long spells in quite a few games. Clearly it’s enough in this league because let’s be honest, the standard is fairly basic.
The frustration comes when you see that in spells team simply cannot cope with us, yet because of sloppiness, on occasion laziness but also some questionable tactics and selections, the defence are having to dig us out.
Today was a prime example, Billy was trying to hold the ball up against a giant centre half when we needed pace to turn him.
Berge for all his talent, did fuck all for the vast majority of the game. It was crying out for pace up top and some bollocks in the middle of the park.
We are a ball winning midfielder and another striker short of being able to stroll the rest of the season if we keep playing to our strengths and not letting lesser teams dominate us.

I genuinely believe we have the best squad and the best starting 11 in the division. I say this based largely on assumption however as I can’t hand on heart say I know the full squads of every team.
I suppose that belies my comments about needing a ball winner and a quality striker but if we have those additions then we walk the remaining games.

I think the striker and ball winner requirements are bang on. I doubt many would disagree. Best squad? Who knows. That’s less an issue for me than the drop off during games. However, while there may be more goals etc if that didn’t happen, we’d still only get three points. Performances may not be what we want but they are doing what we need. As long as we keep doing that! Some would write us of now it seems.

I agree with the best starting 11 bit. If our full squad was fit then maybe the best squad too.

I think we have quality all over the pitch and the credit for that goes down to the club (owners/board) for not selling, the management team for keeping players and improving them (Ndiaye, McBurnie, Bogle, Lowe), the management team for adding the quality we needed that is now making a difference (Mcatee, Doyle).

I personally think we have so much quality, that we can win games at a canter, without getting out of 2nd gear. This is great in terms of the end goal, which is probably promotion. Something that highlights the quality we have, for me, is the fact that we’ve just let Reda Khadra go. He didn’t pull up many trees but there’s no doubt he’s quality.

We also have the best player in the league by a country mile. I think he’s one of the best players I’ve ever seen play for us.

My final point was, after what I’d said there, is that yes it is boring at times. There’s no atmosphere. And we aren’t playing great. But we are that good a side that I think we now have that expectation of our team that we will win and we will go up.

I agree on the sharp point. And I'm surprised there are so many asking for him and Jebbo to swap roles.

You can't underestimate Sharp's presence as a motivator in this team either. His positional know how and where to put his body to free up our attacking midfielders.

Imagine the bed wetting that would be going on if we started an unproven teenager up top for 5 games and didn't win? Having a striker with no presence is what killed us after the whole chef season run in.

As it stands, starting sharp and brining on Jebbo as we've done since Xmas is the sensible decision we'd should all make if we were in Heckys shoes.

I expect Jebbo to start a couple, perhaps even Hull at home, but introduce him slowly, as Hecky is doing.

Sharp is not having the best spell but I'm surprised what he does goes so unnoticed by many. There have even been calls for Ndiaye to play in that role, which is totally not his game. Jebbo could play the Sharp role but he still has a lot to learn. I've seen nothing to suggest he's very good at holding up the ball or making runs to pull defenders away, for instance. He's young, it will come, but it makes sense to me to have a solid experienced pro playing next to Ndiaye, especially against well organised defences.

In an ideal world, McBurnie starts, but without him we have Sharp and maybe, at a big push, Jebbo.
