Another win. won 8 out of the last 10. 11 Points clear of 3rd. Injuries piling up again but still winning games.

But not winning them well enough for some fans, who seem to think the league is a piece of piss but can never explain why it isn't for every other team (except Burnley). Who aren't happy if we don't play like the 1970 Brazilian world cup team and win every game by 4 goals.

Can you imagine what it would be like if we were only in the play-off positions?

It's become a bit like porktalk on here.

Some of the comments in the shithouse at 2 up just had to be seen to believed

is it possible to win having played shit and therefore people whinge despite the result?

Just because we win should we be blinded by the result?

people come on here with no acknowledgment of the injuries, with as you say a sense of ‘massive’ entitlement like we should win every game like Man City (used to)

Reality is we have a patched up squad, have had most of the season, we are 11 points clear of 2nd and on our day play very good football - however every day can’t be our day, some days it doesn’t click and you have to win ugly/at all costs

Someone came on here belittling Stoke at they are ‘fighting relegation’ exactly!! They are fighting for their lives and we have returned the 3-1 from October

Fuck me god help us when we go up and aren’t beating seasoned premier league tans 3-1 playing beautiful football

Get a grip, it’s a results business and we are getting the results

Flip it, if we were playing attractive football but loosing most would be calling for the managers head

Good sides can play poorly and still win. It's their hallmark. And when they play good sides as we did when we hammered Burnley they raise their game. You can't complain if you're winning nearly every game. And if you've been following Blades for a long time since 70s or 80s you can put it in perspective. Enjoy it. While it lasts.

Last season and the season before we would have dropped points in most of these games but we clearly are more comfortable defending leads and conceding possession than our entitled fan base
At the end of the season when the open top bus goes round town I hope you all boo them for not entertaining you enough

Great win, fucking shite performance, what's the problem with saying that? Stop fucking crying because some folks aren't wanking into their socks after that. I don't see a single post moaning about the win and the league position, it doesn't hurt to admit we can do a lot better than that performance today.

Like groundhog day, every Saturday. Clappers and slashers, out in force.

Obviously the result is the most important but I also take interest in the performances because performances are generally an indicator towards future results.

The general rule of thumb is
If a team consistently plays well, has more attacks and more shots then it's only a matter of time before they go on a good run.
Where as if a team consistently play poorly, spend much of the game defending with the opposition having more shots then sooner of later they'll go on a bad run.

However there's a important factor for United that is very different to the Wilder promotion team.

The factor is we have several high quality players match winners like N'Diaye, McAtee, Berge and even Bogle.
So our team can be playing poorly (like we did 2nd half today) and then we'll score a quality goal from nothing.

Also our defence (like it was under Wilder) is still a tough nut to crack even when under pressure.
Stoke has so many attacks in the 2nd half but never really looked like scoring. This all bodes well for us being promoted.

Teletext? What witchcraft is this? Here in Lincolnshire, I have to wait until the News of the World gets delivered on Sunday morning before I know the score.
Still waiting for confirmation on oracle 😏😏😏😏

Nice to see some balance and I agree with every point you make.

My concern is that there looks like there could (and probably will) be an injury crisis on the horizon. It didn't go well the last time.

4 wins better off than 3rd
15 points clear of 7th
19 games left win 10 we get to 84 points
11 means 87 that means teams chasing have to win 15 or 16 of 19
Best defence in the league most clean sheet
14 plus better gd than any of the chasing pack

but let's have a whinge and be negative

looks a bit daft doesn't it being glum

The injuries are once again the worry. There's only so much make do and mend we can get away with. In many ways, Hecky is performing miracles to put a run together with so many changes.

I get annoyed because we clearly weren't 'shite'. We started well, got ourselves 2:0 up and then let them back into it. I thought our defence was really good bar 2/3 moments (the goal, Anel losing Brown and Robbo getting done for pace), Ndiaye and Sharp were ok but the midfield was dreadful. Sure, they had more pressure but it's hardly like they peppered the goal.

Losing Ndiaye would be a huge blow though. We're now very thin up top. Maybe McAtee can play in the Ndiaye role with Doyle starting. We could really use this takeover going through and being able to bring a striker and midfielder in on loan.

Because one thing's for sure, our luck isn't going to always hold out and we're having a fair bit at the moment.

Spot on.

*except on Sharp. He's really lagging now. We need to see more of Jebbison, he's building too strong of a case to be ignored any longer. Excellent cameo again today.

I think sharp quietly goes about doing the things which need to be done. Gets us up the pitch and wins freekicks. It's not fancy and it's not idea but I think against teams we should be beating having a solid and fairly reliable old hand to run the line is fine. As long as there's someone like Ndiaye next to him with the flair. I thought his cameo was mixed to be honest. Defenders used their experience against him and he lost the ball a fair few times. Nice backheel though
