A point away in a local derby against Rotherham would have been ok last season, but not now. Now we not only have to win every game we have to dominate every game, play like Brazil and score at least 3 goals. Otherwise it isn't good enough.I came to the same conclusion earlier. The sense of entitlement among the fanbase is growing and it's real.
Our bench today was Davies, Basham, Clark, Coulibaly, McAtee, Sharp, Marsh.
A keep who has looked poor. A guy at the end of his career who looks poor when he plays now. A Guy who has only trained for 2 days after an injury. A Guy who has never started a game in English football. A guy who picked up an injury last game and a talented player who is inconsistent. An aging striker who is at the end of his career. A kid only on the bench because there is no one else.
Boro's bench: Jones ,Mowatt, Fry, Barlaser, Roberts, Crooks, Bola
Watford's bench: João Pedro, Koné, Hamer, Assombalonga, Morris, Hoedt, Adeyemo
WBA's bench: Ajayi, Grant, Swift, Reach, Thomas-Asante, Chalobah, Griffiths
Burnley's bench: Taylor, Twine, Foster, da Silva, Bastien, Churlinov, Casper
Hardly comparable.
Sure, we're not playing as well as we can and haven't been for a while. We've also had constant injuries and constant changes to the starting line-ups as a consequence. We've got shit training facilities, in the middle of a takeover, under a transfer embargo, our owner tried to force sell two of our better player and then didn't when the money wasn't good enough.
And yet, 10 points clear with a game in hand.
It's an absolute miracle that we are in the position we're in and one of the greatest management feats this club has ever seen.
