Second, but we should be first, but we are The Blades.

Based on nothing other than it being a disappointing league season just passed and we don't know whether the manager/players will be there. It's a level of knowledge that leaves me qualified to form an opinion!

If we still have Clough, his record at Derby would indicate 3rd or 4th.

The number of serious anger management issues and cardiac problems with fans will likely increase by a larger margin.

We need to start from the back. Two centre halves, and a new striker and we will challenge I reckon. Problem is we always sell one big player too late in the transfer window. Got a feeling we will improve on this season, the league will be slightly weaker without Bristol, MK and probably Preston. I reckon we'll be close to top 2 (as long as said signings are made) but ultimately finish 3rd. Will be very interesting to see how Millwall and Wigan do. I think Wigan will probably win the title and we'll have a massive scrap for the next 5 positions. My hopeless optimism seems to be rising again, but slowly. UTB

If it's true his main target is COG then this is a clear indication of his intent to continue with 1 up top.

Nothing will change, the side will still be pedestrian and predictable, hoping to get 1-1 draws away and 1-0 wins at home.

Anyone hoping for or expecting anything different should be prepared for disappointment.

There will be 5 or 6 better sides than us again next season.

TBH i think Wigan will finish up like us , being in the backwater of football league 1 for a extended period of time .

Daft as it may seem , it could be a number of clubs coming up from league 2 as the surprise package , along with one or two mediocre sides who have some financial backing . We thought last year was the year to do it , but learning the hard way , each year ( now year 5 ) , it becomes tougher and tougher .

Yeah true, Chesterfield did brilliantly this season, I didn't expect that. Teams appear to be coming up with such confidence that it shocks the rest of this league.

Won't Wigan still have the parachute payments? I suppose they wont have the pulling power of Wolves, but financially they should be well off. Guess we'll wait and see!

Can't see passed Wigan and Blades. Millwall may offer something as will/may Barnsley and Donny.

Swindon may get relegated

Bottom four by the end of October. Clough sacked and his replacement gets them within spitting distance of the play-offs (7th). Oh and a decent cup run. Deja vu.

I wouldn't write off Burton for the top end of the league. JFH had them steamrollering teams. Oh for a taste of that here!

Can only see more of the same. Unless the philosophy changes a little and we see three or four serious signings.

Play offs again, Wigan will walk it a bit like Wolves did, Parachute money makes all the difference at this level. Everyone else will be playing for second spot.

I think we are capable of finishing anywhere between 4th and about 8th.

That's not an option on the poll so I've gone for 5th again. Still reckon we will be 20 or so points away from auto, very similar season as the one just gone :tumbleweed:

You ever put 2nd, is way to optimistic and then at the end of next season will say "clough didn't get us promoted, like we expected and then blame it all on him" let's be honest we're looking at a 4-7th place finish

Millwall mate tells me they'll sell anyone decent and rebuild, needing two or three seasons to mount a challenge. Wigan are now back from whence they came and their parachute payments still won't make them as attractive a proposition as Wolves were so let's not just assume they are gonna walk it as champions. If memory serves me it was us and them in the Fourth Division 81/82 season wasn't it?
So if lessons are learned, the right signings are made, I'm going for the glory.
Blades to win it!
In our fancy new kit .
Swindon right behind us.

There, I've said it...
