kop end.

don penn for them blasted down the middle i recall

dont think mathews pen had the power to cross the goaline.

que carnage on the pitch, and there player alan buckley crapping himself as the kop descended on him whilst he was celebrating with there fans at final whistle

Indeed. It had no power at all. Probably because he didn't actually take it!:)

And people wonder why the fans are nervous before matches and then I see OPs like this just before a big match......

Get a grip please, by all means ask such questions but not just before important games...

Hope the rest of our fans are more "fearless" and can put aside bad things in the past, after all being "fearless" worked well for Lelcester last season and is the best attitude to have.

Both.

Are you sending it as well?surely it can't be just me.

I also throw shit in the skip Lee Hendrie now lives in. The wank orange midget twat.
I piss in bins just in case Hendrie is in one looking for his dinner.

Kop End.
I remember the photo that accompanied the write-up in The Green Un. The look of sheer horror on Martin Peters' face as Givens missed that pen is etched into my brain.

Don used to tell me that if a player needed to speak to Martin Peters out of the training situation they had to make an appointment to see him. Who has Mr Peters managed since? Anybody?

To be fair, he was an ex England World Cup winner and inherited a difficult situation. What annoys me more is that we keep doing it; how many ex assistants and coaches have we put in charge since and, of those, how many achieved anything?

Kop,to the goalie's right, the ball trickled along the floor, you could have blown it harder.

My impression of it was that he mishit it. I might be completely wrong, but I felt that as he ran up to the ball he changed his mind over where to try and place it.

He definitely thought he was better than he was and, yes, we were his only club as a manager.

kop end the useless bastard  first time I ever cried sat on the kop with my mates :(

mind you had a brilliant season straight after :D visiting some weird and wonderful grounds :tumbleweed:
I wasn't too good that day either.

But after the Oldham draw I went home and had sex for an hour and two minutes Saturday night. (Thank you daylight saving time!)

Kop
And he tapped it into the Walsall goalkeepers hands if memory serves me correctly

Was the Kop. Had already asked my Dad to take me home after the Buckley goal went in and completely lost it after the miss. Remember some kids on the way home saying Swindon had got beat (our only way of staying up) but it was a lie
Several years later was at a Tottenham match with Martin Peters being the after match speaker, when asked what his worst time in football was he mentioned that day, nobody else in the room understood why, or why I lost it again

I was there but still confused it !!

Off to see consultant in morning now :(

tbh I though it was the Lane end at first, had to think about it.

Was there another pen taken at the lane end that day?

Definitely Kop. I was stood in John Street old stand directly behind managers dug out. Peters turned his back on play and faced us. Couldn't watch it himself. Funny my recollection is Givens hit it over the bar but I stand corrected by other writers. Probably the worst moment of my watching the Blades.

I was 13 and us young uns used to stand at the front of the kop just to the right. It was, as said on here, at the kop end. I went on the pitch cause everyone did but didn't know what to do other than look around.

That was the day that I learnt supporting Sheffield United was not going to be like supporting plastic teams.

The (relative) success is so much better when you've been on a Journey in Blades wonderland. Would have liked a bit more success, a little bit more luck and a team that can do play offs, but overall wouldn't swop being a proper fan for following anyone else..

Hopefully, northampton will be a day to remember!
