Do Souza and Anel come straight back into the team for Burnley?

Obviously we play Burnley on Thursday and Chris Wilder has confirmed that both Souza and Anel are fit.

But do you throw them straight back in?

In my opinion Souza has to come back in but i’m not sure for who, would you drop Davies or Peck?

There is also an argument for Anel, of course Robbo has been fantastic and doesn’t deserved to be dropped but Burnley have quick players and are very dangerous on the counter attack and we could really need Anel’s pace for this game.

Let me know what you would do if you were Wilder.

Yeah I think they both need to come back in.

JLT is a reasonably solid CB, but his limited technical ability always worries me. Even more so these days when we're more intent on playing out from the back. Anel is much more comfortable in this aspect, so it's a no-brainer for me to bring him back in alongside Souttar.

Souza as well should come straight back in. The bigger question though, is who does he replace?

Do you drop Peck, who might benefit from a step back from the limelight of featuring every game? Or do you drop Davies, who is certainly the better overall player of the 2 (at least currently), but has been out with long-term injury troubles?

I personally would drop Peck to the bench. I think Davies' experience would be too valuable to give up against a team like Burnley, so I'd pair him with Souza, then look to bring him off early in the 2nd half to not wear him out too much.

He also said they were back before the Cardiff game too :D

Peck absolutely needs a rest anyway, so if Souza is ok to start that one's a no brainer.

It's a bit more difficult for me with JLT. Yes I think Anel is the slightly better defender alongside Souttar, but if JLT is fit he has to play. The reason being that it sends out the wrong message if Anel walks straight back in, following his petulance against Coventry, which could have cost us dearly. If JLT hadn't been as effective as he has been, I would have voted for Anel to return.

Both were fit for Cardiff - but not risked saving for Boxing Day - id rest Peck

Two tough games in a row and only a few days apart. These next 4 games is probably the toughest of the season so can't take too many risks but if they are fit for 60+ minutes I would

I think Anel is a necessity for Sunderland and WBA games as they've pace up top. I'd keep him on the bench Thursday unless he absolutely 100% fit.

2 games in 4 days so definitely makes sense for Peck to be given a break so I expect Souza comes in for Peck.

I suspect given Anels idiocy in getting sent off and us not having conceded in the last 3 games that Robbo starts

Yes and yes. I'd be tempted to play Davies and vini souza and give Sydie a break. But then again...what do I know.
same here if souza is fit him and davies for me peck has played a lot of games recently for a young lad a rest will do him good lot of fixtures coming up and he will be needed

Yes if both are fit, Anel for Robbo and Souza for Peck.
i agree Robbo has done well but we need someone a bit quicker when playing Burnley . Also Souza brings so much to the team ,chasing back and tackling forwards might be a thing against burnley and there is no one better than him for that . There again Peck has done well but i think it's horses for courses and Anel and Souza fits playing them .

Both should come back in if fit, for Peck and Robbo. Peck had a great game against Cardiff but so did Davies and I think Peck needs a break more. It’s also a high pressure game and Peck’s shown signs of getting overly wound up - would like a cooler head in the middle of the park with Souza.

I know Anel is also easy to wind up but I’d bring him in. He helps us to break a press which we’ve really struggled with against good sides recently. Also, if Souza and Anel both come back and Moore and Souttar both play, we’re back to being a big side again - which I really like in both boxes. I know Burnley are a different side now but last time they came to the lane in the champ we bullied them into submission, which was lovely to watch.

As others have said yes if fit enough... play our strongest side for the toughest home game this season.

People are forgetting the opposition we’ve faced when Robbo has played, whilst he has done a decent job we’ve played some really poor sides in really poor form, taking this into consideration now we’re playing a top side, Anel has to come back in, he’s a better player, Robbo will be there if needed. Souza is a no brainer too, get him back in, he’s been integral this season and has to start every game if fit.

If they were going to start Soutar & Robinson at the back could Souza & Anel not play along side each other ?
Would it or could it work ?

For all the stick I've given Robinson he'd be starting for most Championship teams. Anel is better. It's not been a major injury and he's not been out that long so if Anel is fit then he should start.

Souza seemed to be struggling in a few games running up to an inevitable injury, but asking Davies to play so much football after being out for so long is too much. I'm impressed by Davies so far but he's a different type of player to Souza. Same as some else said, I'd like to see Souza and Davies together at some point.

Our best eleven has Souza and Anel in it. Don't think there can be much argument about that, so it's more a decision for the physios to make than anyone else.

Any football team should play the best 11 players, so yes, no debate really. JR is ok against most of the guff in the championship but we need better against the bigger teams.

You didn't need to add the brackets re: Davies ,certainly the better player was enough, he's 26 and made over 150 prem league appearances and represented England at every level from u16 upwards, peck has played fewer than 30 career games , If he's achieved what Davies has by 26 that would be an impressive achievement
