Caceres should be out on loan, once Blaster gets fit, at the moment he'd be cover/competition for O'Hare and Hamer in the same position (CM) that he played last season.

If he can get back to proper fitness, maybe as the season goes on he can force his way back into the 1st team.

Apparently caeceres ,nwachukwu and polendakov (apologies if spelt wrong all done from memory )
Are all available for loan
 
This has become such an important signing now. We have a lot of similar type midfielders. We have 'the 10s' the 'box to box' and the 'injured' groups. We dont have a baller winner and true holding CM any more.
I hope we get him in sooner rather than later so he can build up a partnership and understand of his team mates/role. I think we're him and a commanding CB away from a very good staring 11.

And that won’t be enough because it’s a squad game. Owners look like leaving us completely short of bodies. Mid table at best it seems.

What makes you think the owners are leaving us short? We're in for Soumare aren't we? Selles has been looking at what he's got instead of buying for the sake of buying. He's given loads of players a chance over pre-season.

He's already acknowledged that because of the way the transfer market moves these days other loan signings may come later in the window. The owners aren't holding anything back, we're being more patient this year. As a result Ukaki, One and Sasnauskas are likely to be in the squad for this season, so that's two/three less players to sign as a result.

Panic at the end of the transfer window, not now.

For me it’s not so much short of bodies, more short of quality. All will become clearer at the end of the window. Souza, Anel? Hamer?

And maybe he will come later next month.

Nothing wrong with being mildly concerned about where we look short but surely more fans can wait until the end of the window before they decide the owners have shafted us and promotion is out of the window.

Yep, lets just sign anyone, literally anyone so we have enough bodies in the door. I dont give a fuck who they are, if they are good or what. JUST SIGN ANYONE. OWNERS AHHHTTTTTTTTTTTTT

Think the Peck needing a loan this time last year might have been justified at the time though.

At the time, we had Andre Dozzell on trial and Arblaster was nailed on to be our starting CM alongside Souza who had transformed into a new player last summer.

Had Arblaster not gotten injured when he did, Peck would not have played as much football (not starting games at least), probably the same with Tom Davies as well.

All true, but the point is that given the chance, for whatever reason, he proved to be good enough. Maybe one or two of the others are also.

I hope not, I think he’s looked well below the required standard to be a squad player when played at right back. He has looked better at CB but still L2 level ish for me.

Hopefully we can bring someone in and send him out on loan to L2 like Blacker. He has potential but he’s not Championship standard yet IMO.

Seem all pre-season games he’s played in…. Definitely not ready for Championship yet

A total of 47 appearances would suggest that Peck was a long way from “needing a loan”.
Perhaps Dozzell wasn’t pursued because he was deemed to be offering no more (or even less) than Peck who featured (prominently) in the squad from the 1st game & was the ‘go to’ replacement when either Arblaster or Souza was absent
This time last year Souza was (almost universally) deemed to be dog shite ‘informed’ by his PL performances
