Been trying to find out if we can end Harry's loan if his injury is season ending or if Leicester could say "you keep him as you are now responsible for his wages until end of loan."
If Leicester say we have to keep him ,then are we responsible for his treatment until loan ends?
Maybe the rules say they are responsible for his medical treatment but we have to pay him until loan expires.
Or maybe there are no rules and that the 2 clubs have their own agendas set out in the contract.
Anyone know how it works?

I imagine it might vary from agreement to agreement, depending on the seriousness of the injury concerned, but surely if a player is confirmed as being unavailable beyond the term of any loan, the parent club should be willing to cancel the agreement?

There will also be insurance taken out by one or both clubs to cover wages, loan fees etc for situations like this.

I’d imagine it’s standard practice for a loan player to return to his parent club in the event of a serious injury.

Financially, you’d think we’ll have to pay all the loan fee and wages as agreed originally.

If a loan player is out for the season, you'd most likely send him back to his parent club as they will want to oversee his recovery.

Leeds fan mate just mentioned us still paying him I thought no way so googled about injured loans and this thread specifically about Souttar came up! Surely if we have to still pay him we'd say fine we oversee his rehab then. There's no way a prem club would want that though so surely there's no way they can demand him back at theirs and still demand we pay him?? Likely there's no set rule tbf and this stuff is decided when the deal is done I guess.

I can't remember his name but I remember us signing a midfielder on loan who got injured in pre-season and was out for the season. We still had to honour the loan deal and pay the agreed wages for the whole season. Simon? Adrian? I can't remember his name.

We've agreed to pay x% of his wages for the season. Him getting injured doesn't change that.

Ryan France?

Don’t forget though that the club will pay for insurance.

I’d imagine such a injury would trigger some of the cover.
