Well we've always said that by being involved, if things do end up being a waste of time, it's only our own time that's been wasted. So I don't understand the cynicism of those who resolutely won't get involved beyond trying to convince us that it's a waste of time and pointless :)

I also don't understand where some of the criticism about getting perks from United for being involved in this comes from (not so much on this site, but others). Beyond a cup of tea and a custard cream, Foxy and I receive nothing from the club for going to these meetings and if we did, we'd feel morally obliged to say so because our intentions, at least, are transparent.*

Just on this point, I find it a disgrace that some on here will criticise the job you and your Worse half do on this site, and go as far to make veiled, and sometimes blatant, accusations that you do this for personal gain or are in cahoots with the club.

We're it my time and money being poured into this site, I suspect I might not be as light with the Ban Hammer as you guys are, and it's a testament to your good selves that you hold off from using the "Ultimate Power" as much as you do.

"Answer: As you know, the restrictions placed on us by the Safety Advisory Group at the council are very tight and the Club does understand the fans' frustrations."

Shame the council weren't so flaming concerned in 1989....

Cause and effect there I think.

"Answer: Exactly. With regards to the Kyles, we have to be realistic and we can't stifle their careers.

We'd like to have explained the reasons that the players went, but we had to bear the players' feelings in mind. We couldn't lay all the "blame" on them at the time."

Why not? At the time they were no longer "our" players. The only obligation the club has at that point is to its fans.

Don't spin it, tell it like it is. Most of us are from Yorkshire after all.

Question: How much is the rent charge from PLC to SUFC?

Answer: Nowt.

That breaks HMRC legislation.

"Question: What's the plan for matchday commentary streaming. What's the point where we say enough's enough?

Answer: We know about it but we're contracted in and we can't do anything about it."

Are there any service level agreements in the contract or is the contract basically, he bend over this barrel????

"We can't say too much specifically about "certain issues" at the current time."

Can you at least tell us what the certain issues are :D

HMRC will be interested in that, it's not allowed.

mmmmmmmm.................................... if the accounts are submitted individualy it does.

Please don't twist the words or quote individuals on the specific semantics of our coverage, it's not possible to cover the full dialogue word for word in the way we cover it. Nor is it fair to throw stones/quote people on the exact wording of our coverage. The context of the answer was that the setup was nothing but beneficial to the football club side of operations. Any further details as to the setup should be queried in the relevant places - i.e. the AGM.

If people want answers, they'll get them. What makes it harder to get answers is people mis-interpreting and mis-quoting answers to suit a specific agenda. :)

It's also worth noting that before your imagination runs away with itself, that the accounts will be published before long, which are audited by professionals.

I personally choose to see that as a mistrust of the club in their dealings with fans, us included, instead of a slight against us. But perhaps I'm being overly naive.

By the same token, you'd be amazed at the bitching we get on matchdays if we have a quiet five minutes on Twitter, as though we are employees of the club being paid to update people... rather than just a couple of fans going to away games off their own backs with smartphones and mobile web connections. I choose to take it as a compliment that people follow us for updates and want to hear from us, but again, perhaps we're just being taken for mugs :D

It all comes down to the fact that if we didn't enjoy doing what we do and talking to people and hopefully catering for a gap in the market for Blades supporters, then we just wouldn't bother.

It's a thanks from me for doing what you do. You will never convince some, but rest assured, many get loads of pleasure from the effort you and Foxy put in.

I just happened to be seated in the vicinity of your hosts at last nights forum, believe me they were working tirelessly (sp) to keep the forum updated, they deserve nothing but massive praise for all their efforts, respect to the both of them, it was hard work watching them, honestly.

Kudos to you both.

It's the vocal minority spoiling it for the rest, as usual. There is a vast majority that quietly appreciate your every effort. Thankfully the clowns among us are really good at making fools of themselves, and I think most people see them as mere entertainment.

Examples please Selly of people making these personal criticisms? Really pathetic that criticism of our tin pot club is seen as criticism of Foxy and Linz - who produce a great forum. If the banned people for slagging the club off nobody would be left and you'd have a joke forum.

The same old usual rollocks from your good self - well done.

I was following it on twitter last nighjt and can I just thank Foxy and Linz on behalf of most on here for doing what they did. I cant really get to these things myself so being able to read what is said is brilliant.

Thanks to Foxy and Linz for their efforts last night, I was following online and at least some of us can appreciate that producing a full transcript was never the intention, but to give real time feedback to the forum members.

I'd like to know from those that were there (not just Foxy and Linz, but i'll appreciate your feedback as well) what the general feeling was. The way I read (mainly Linz's) posts they didn't shy away from many questions and where they could give answers they did. This seems to be different from previous meetings, where we got feedback of "we'll get back to you on that"

The people attending seemed to be, in many ways the right people to answer the questions.

So overall was this a positive exercise? Certainly sounded like it and it certainly seemed that some of the more pressing questions were put to the "Top Table"

We may not like all of the answers, but it seems a good starting point to build some bridges between club and fans

I like the idea of a "social club" on John St, whoever it was on the "top table" that was pushing this idea forward has a decent idea.

That would be John Garrett, Swiss.

I do get the feeling that there is a sincere wish to rekindle a more 'social' feeling to Home matchdays, as you say a good idea, which does need the backing of the wider Blades support, coupled with the idea or intent to involve visitors too.

I remember going in The Lane social club after matches and mixing with the players and people from behind the scenes. It would be wonderful if they could set this up again.

I really hope they do something about hiring the pitch, thanks for getting that question out Linz / Foxy - maybe one day we can get a load of us off here playing on the hallowed turf :D

I specifically asked the fan part , commercial did offer the opportunity the other year, but I never got anything organised for a game off here.

I'm playing at Carrow Road again next year, can't wait.

Like I said, think its £1,500 but we get about 30/40 of us and pay £40/£50 odd each, that covers the hire of the ground, a ref, trophy, and a matchball for the day.

That £1,500 includes pitch (we have a 100 minute game followed by a penalty shoot out, barrel of laughs especially when my first one went halfway up the Barclay stand), changing rooms, corporate bar area (unfortunately not free inside though!).

If you did organise it, I for one would be keen.

I'm keen for your forum football on Sunday's, but I don't often stay up at weekends anymore when I come to BDTBL, must try harder!

Aye, it's much appreciated.
