I honestly think derby will win,if the away end was packed out I could see the away fans giving Wednesday that boost same as if we were away.

So of the clubs listed above, i've granted each club points based on the following criteria (not scientific, but...)

5pts - A Season in the Top Flight
10pts - League Cup Win
25pts - FA Cup Win
50pts - League Title

I say it's not that scientific, but bloody hell, it's not far off is it...

Because I'm a sad git, I've been tracking something like this, with a non-linear drop off of 'value' over 20 years (so iff the most recent title counts as 100 points, a title 20+ years ago counts as 10). Titles, cup finals, seasons in top flight and European qualification all count (because people remember who lost the FA Cup, but no-one remembers league runners up)

Relevant part of the table up to 2019-20

181Leeds137.0
19-1Sheff Wed130.0
202Nott'ham For126.0
21-1Stoke City123.0
22-1Bolton122.8
231Sheff Utd113.2
24-1Portsmouth99.3

thing is derby know theyve got to go for a win highly unlikely but if toytown win at cardiff even a draw isnt enough to save em mind got to be honest think pigs will win and stay up really hope im wrong though utb fto
I'm hoping for a draw in Derby.

Then it's up to Rotherham where they finish, beat Cardiff and they'll stay up.

I'd actually prefer Derby to stop up as it's a much better day out than being herded from pillar to post in Rotherham by South Yorkshire's finest but if Rotherham can beat Cardiff then full credit to them, they'll deserve the rewards.

The League Cup is a major trophy.

Anyone who says it isn't is talking shit.
Never was a major trophy if fact the bigger clubs didn't enter into the competition until it was made compulsory in 1972. A lot of the earlier finals were played with lower league teams Rotherham, Swindon, Rochdale etc Until a European place was up for grabs no one gave a toss about it. Average attendances for game were division 3 levels as it never had the pull or kudos of the FA cup. It might have been a big deal 20-30 year ago but once again it is hardly worth winning for a Premier League team most put the reserve out until they get to the semi final stage. 2nd rate competition always has been always will be.

Pep Guardiola has just won it four years on the trot.

It's most definitely a major trophy that all the top clubs still want to win.

This season there was a lot of talk of Man City doing the quadruple. That includes the Premier League, Champions League and FA Cup.

What was the other one?

I'm fairly sure the league cup was number 4 in Pep's priorities but hey ho you keep on bigging up the pigs like you always do, it is not just me that has noticed your trait.

This discussion has absolutely nothing to do with Sheffield Wednesday.

The League Cup is widely regarded as a major honour in English football.

It's not even a debate.

Deano Not sure how you can say teams don't take it seriously. Just because they rest players in it doesn't mean they don't. Unfortunately the big teams have the squad depth available to be able to do this.

Last 20 years list of winners of the League Cup:

Man City (6)
Man Utd (3)
Chelsea (3)
Spurs (2)
Liverpool (2)
Blackburn (1)
Boro (1)
Birmingham (1)
Swansea (1)

So 16 of 20 titles won by the big 6 who don't take it seriously o_O
No need for facts here mattbianco1

Arrogant's v Arrogant's
The Battle of which of the potentially big clubs will be playing in the 3rd tier of English football Next Season.
SKY EXCLUSIVE: Sources close to both clubs are now suggesting that the match will unfortunately be called off this Saturday in light of the recent crisis at Derby and Sheffield Wednesday. We have it on good authority that both clubs in a bizarre turn of events will not be able to compete due to the fact that they have both disappeared completely!

Points deductions received should be taken off the scores and an adjustment for three players accepting bribes should see at least 300 points off, to be reduced to 150 on appeal.

It's cos they're fucking massive like the pigs isn't it?? MASSIVE FUCKING CUNTS!!

FACT or it doesn’t count.

l wonder how many who poo poo the League Cup chased tickets for the SF second leg at Anfield or stayed at home to watch Emmerdale? Same with the Spurs game more recently.

When Tonge stuck those two goals in against Liverpool, metalblade just shrugged his shoulders and said, "Yeah but the the final in 1962 was only Norwich v Rochdale".
