Let’s look at the issues here.

Superb player, at his peak world class. That is still in there.
Fitness wise, he’s been training though not playing so both his fitness and preparedness for a game are non existent, and at best 6 weeks away with reserve game time assuming he doesn’t pick up any injuries as a result of playing again.

However…this isn’t a simple fitness issue. This is a mental one.
Years back there may have been that drive and determination to succeed, to overcome those now well documented problems he’s had from his childhood. But having made lots of money and no doubt wasted a lot of that trying to find ways of putting his past out of mind I suspect all he has done is create even more issues he has to deal with.
This isn’t a physical injury that will repair with rest or an operation.

Wilder can not sort that out, I’m sorry to say he won’t be back playing anywhere close to his previous levels and we would be silly to think otherwise.
Best thing he could do if he has any money left if go to Como…make new friends, leave his past behind and try starting again. Go back to school, learn, find something he loves doing and just do that.
If he’s got money left he can enjoy a peaceful life somewhere nice.

Available on a free.

Worth a trial in my opinion and if fit a £5k play as you play deal until the end of the season if he's up for that.

(Edit: whilst offering minimum wage as a regular salary)
10 years to late

We may be able to help bring him back to his best, but we also may not be able to… it’s a risk. Not one I think would be worth it with such a cohesive group

He won't get a PL club. He needs to drop down for one season. Blues or Disney FC would fit with their exposure. I'd snap your hands off for him. He has had issues off the field, needs a fresh start and no pressure away from the PL. Would be our best midfielder by a country mile

He was so good, Como gave him one appearance!

He was good years back. But that’s years back!

Let him be someone else’s rehab project.

Absolutely not .. the lad has a lot of personal issues which he has bravely and openly talked about.

To come here with the environment as it is would do him no good whatsoever ….

Also wouldn’t be good for him at Birmingham or Wrexham where the media exposure and pressure is high at the minute ….

Needs to go to a club that realistically has no ambitions for promotion and knows this like a Charlton or a Preston or even a Stockport and just get back to enjoying his football

I agree in many respects. Mid-table Preston under top bloke Hecky sounds great for a guy in his particular situation.

But... have always kinda wanted him to join us despite the risk and likelihood it won't work!

Maybe he needs to step away from football completely? This cycle of expectation/failure, on top of his well discussed issues going back to his childhood can't be sustainable you'd guess?

I think his good years are too long in the past now to hope for any kind of resurgence. He'll probably just retire.

When we're trying to get the culture back to previous levels would be a bad signing.

Nothing against the lad, but just don't think would be good for our club.

If Wilder was here, Alli could easily be added to the list of failed reclamation projects alongside Ravel Morrison, Jack Rodwell, Ricky Holmes, Nathan Thomas and Oliver Burke.
With respect, Dele Alli is in a different stratosphere to all those names mentioned. There's only really Rodwell who performed anything remotely close to the same level.
Alli was a consistent starter and goalscorer for a top 6 prem team for a good 5/6 years, as well as being a regular for England for some of these.

He won PFA Young Player of the Year for two seasons on the bounce (for reference an award won by the likes of Kane, Bale, Hazard, Sane, Sterling, TAA, Foden, Saka, Rogers).

Whatever has happened to him is incredibly sad, I struggle to think of any player who has gone from such a high level to obscurity before their 30th birthday. If he can get any type of regular football he could still be a real asset to someone but it seems his head will not allow it.

So what’s his career move then? Working at Aldi?
