Which player coming in this week would turn your pessimism around? Serious names and not Messi

In general I think we should be looking very seriously at the Irish lads who’ve gone abroad and had success early on in their careers it seems like a popular route now for Irish players as an alternative to signing for an English academy there’s a few who are now probably needing that stepping stone move before getting to one of Europe’s top leagues.

Isaac Price was another one I really liked and he went to West Brom last January and hit the ground running.

About half to two thirds of the Anel money could’ve/ should’ve been reinvested in McNulty (LCB) and Xavier Mbuyamaba (RCB).

McNulty is 22 yrs old, 6’2, and has the flexibility of playing in 2, on the left hand side of a 3 and as a LB. He would be classed as a domestic player for WP purposes.

Mbuyamba is 23 yrs old, 6’5 and has the flexibility of playing in a 2, on the right hand side of a 3 and as a RB. He’d need a ‘golden visa’.

Both currently play in the Dutch top division, both speak English and both started their careers at top level clubs. McNulty came through the ranks at Wolfsburg and Real Betis, whilst Mbuyamba was at Chelsea and Barca.

Mbuyamba has an implant defib due to a previously discovered heart rhythm issue.

Both players will end up in Britain and both will be successes.
